FWIW they were definitely friends in some capacity at some point. I remember Arin joking about never going to New Jersey again and Dan saying (paraphrased) "Well, you'll have to because we're visiting my parents in March." I don't remember the episode or the set-up but I definitely remember it being something along those lines.

I can absolutely believe they can't stand each other now, though. Jon made a joke about not being friends outside Grumps shortly before leaving and Arin got somewhat upset, saying "that's too real!"

Unfortunately, my wife watches a LOT of Game Grumps so I know way too much about these fuckos. Dan bought a house down the street from Arin's so they could hang out on the regular, it was mentioned a few times during the Covid-19 era where they worked from home instead of from their office. I do believe they are actually friends.

bit off topic but i feel like people also use this thread as a newgrounds thread

the flashgitz guys recently made a second channel so they could have more freedom to animate what they wanted without worrying about advertisers

so enjoy that newfound freedom as they mock children

The Mythbusters situation was a lot more nuanced them “loathing” each-other. It is clear for anyone to see that they have wildly different personalities that often clashed: Savage is sort of an impulsive extrovert while Hyneman is a thoughtful introvert. You’d often see them butt heads in regards of how to approach problems on the show, even resulting in a stalemate until either one relented and they’d compromise a solution.

However, both of them have credited this as a big part of the show’s success: neither one was just a Yes Man who blindly followed then other. The solutions that came from them having to compromise were often some of their best.

Now, the reasons why they didn’t hang out in their spare time were obvious:

- Their personalities didn’t match up as mentioned nor did they really share interests outside of their work.
- They spent an ungodly amount of time together filming the show and simply needed breaks from one another during their down time.

Simply put, while their working relationship sort of worked out because of their clashing personalities, there was no grounds for non-work friendship to come out of it. I’m sure every one of us had workplace relationships with people just like that.

It wasn't his worst, no, but the fact you had to remind me of what it was about allthough i saw it two days ago tells me it wasn't very good. But hey, maybe i need to rewatch it a couple of times, i didn't like his "Getting a boat license" at first but after a rewatch i changed my mind.

i guess the absurdity of a lot of it amused me like the league players surrounded by mortgage ads, the depression closets with a single desk and computer, and all the stupid shit in things like the gamer castle

Well, Dan knows to shut up and don't use social media (He seems to dislike Twitter) and Arin seems to have learned to shut up as well, maybe his 50+ (or how many they now where) employees are tard wrangling GG.

But hey, i know how you feel, i rewatch this thread from time to time, hoping for some good milk. but alas...

The Allie (Ally?) girl definitely seems to act as a pseudo tard wrangler for them since she apparently does, like, everything outside of actually recording the gameplay and commentary (although she’s present for it).

I hope they’re paying her well-enough for all of it.
