There was probably a fertilizer dump 3 blocks from where they lived, and they should have known. Nothing more than a strategic masterclass in collateral damage.
Sucks to be them, but if they didn't want to be blasted into kingdom come, then they should pre-emptively moved from an active warzone to somewhere safer.

yes this is sarcasm, but there are people in this thread who have said this in the past.

And with that the sound of a hundred ree’ing F-35 fanboys (and an armchair analyst larping as a pig) could be heard across the hills.

The only real reason I’m really skeptical of that plane personally is because it’s so fucking expensive for what it is, but the MIC has to fill its pockets somehow…

I'm assuming by "similar job" you mean "gets blown up by a $6000 shoulder launched missile" because I haven't seen the F-35 capable of that yet.

Because they are Russian SF deniable ops akin to CIA Direct Action. And the bulk (at least 30%) if not outright majority of the infantry in this war have been from the DPR/LPR militia, not the Russian Army or Internal Troops like MVD. For example, Mariupol was almost entirely fought by DPR infantry.

If there was ever a target, this would be it. It's under Russian control, so they've definitely got it in their crosshairs.
All you'd need is a Russian ammo dump conveniently situated 2 - 3 blocks away, and that would be enough of a justification. Sure, a lot of Ukrainian citizens will die from either loss of electricity, the massive cancer-causing dirty explosion that would ensue, or various illnesses over the following decades, but it would be worth it to own dem ruskies and it's their own fault for living within a certain mile radius of a power plant, because how dare they live in an active warzone. Collateral damage.
