The reason why IMessages can be recovered is they are cloud based.
Deleted stuff can be recovered because only file pointers are removed. The original file is still on the device, until space is needed and it then gets overwritten. At that point the forensic tools used by plod (Encase) are useless. Theoretically, if you have a very expensive electron microscope you may be able to retrieve the original , but who’s going to bother?
Wiping a device will overwrite user data, so silly Kate is wrong. Of course data can be recovered from a backup but if that’s encrypted and password protected you’re stuffed.
And anyhow, any forensic tool would have to get past a password (hint, always switch your device off when plod are around, so finger/face prints cannot be used to unlock). If you have a strong non-numeric password even the most expensive phone forensics - used by the likes of the CIA against terrorists - can’t crack even a reasonable length passcode.
Until the pass code is supplied the whole device is encrypted.
What the Basingstoke Belle is saying is anyone can hack an iPhone. Better get rid of that Apple stock fellas, Katie and her “Genius” son have just destroyed one of the most valuable companies on the planet

The tweets are about the fact I deleted a toxic conversation with Joani W in September 2019 at the same time as blocking her. It was toxic, upsetting and I didn’t want it taking up space.
When Joani leaked that conversation on here and to Reporterlal, Hayden sued me for a second time a year later and demanded I provided it! I couldn’t. It was long gone.
Vardy was in trouble because she/her agent took steps to delete evidence after the judge requested it.
There’s no requirement to archive or record all your conversations in case someone might sue you a year later.
Disclosure is about providing all evidence in your possession that might support or undermine your case. The parameters are tightly controlled.
It’s not a fishing trip for someone to say, “I think you’ve been doing x, I need to see all your conversations to prove that you haven’t”.
You can’t for example say, “I’ve heard that you’ve been abusing your wife. I am going to use that as bad character against you and I will need to see all texts between you and your wife in order to see if this is the case.”
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
If someone demands to see all my correspondence with Boris Johnson, for example, the fact that I have never communicated with him and can’t provide anything, isn’t proof I’ve deleted it. I suppose someone could demand a judge orders my devices to be forensically examined to see if Boris is sliding into my DMs via a pseudonym or something, but not only would it be deemed an unreasonable fishing trip, it would also cost whoever is making the demand, a lot of money. These experts don’t come cheap.
However, the current claim against me is for breach of privacy on Twitter, though the usual pattern is for the charge sheet to grow exponentially.

SSD memory isn't the same as HDD . That said there is no secret hidey places for wiped data to suddenly reappear or be recovered unless you have a backed up image on cloud storage or any other storage device
You can't store two 0 or two 1 on the same finite storage space
HDD storage is magnetic . SSD NVM ie charged
Overwrite ( as opposed to delete which simply removes the pointer and marks the available space for general file storage ) deletes the data entirely.
With some small caveats about methods of overwriting , that's it. END OF DATA

The way “Mom” of the Year was going on, the holiday of a lifetime was a five star “country club” “vacation” in “The Hamptons”, “NY”.
In the end it sounds like a long weekend caravanning at Golden Sands in Rhyl.
