The "every streamer is like Phil" excuse is one of the most retarded copes the paypigs make. No, Phil isn't like every streamer, or like most. There's a fine line between plugging ways that people support you, and guilt tripping, lying, playing mind games and manipulating people into giving you money. And then being pretentious enough to have a preference of how you'd like to receive your money. All while producing "content" that's a whole lot worse than "every streamer". Are there retard streamers? Of course. But not many as greasy as the gacha monster

no actually, no big twitch streamer would do the same thing phil is doing. The whole point of being a big streamer is you have such a huge viewerbase you dont have to worry about this stuff, you dont have to beg for tips, just getting a sub is enough most of the time. Phils issue is that he wants the money of a big streamer while having a fraction of the total vewerbase.

im not sure if titty streamers beg/never shut up about money as much as phil does, and even if they do thats not the best comparssion anyway. I dont follow streamers really, but some that I view uploaded vods for pretty much never talk this shit. big streamers dont do it because they have such a huge viewerbase, and smaller ones dont do it because twitch isnt their only/main source of income

I have a question in regards to the tips money: is the Paypal fee already included? From what I understand (i don't use Papyal often and mostly to donate some money to birthdays / jubilees from colleagues) is that Paypal keeps a fee when you withdraw your money immediately. I actually understand the birthday week thing. When I was a kid, more often than not our birthday would fall on a weekday and since Mom and Dad were working full time jobs to support 3 testosterone fueled monsters who thought they had extra lives, we'd fully celebrate the birthday on the weekend. Although we would call it our birthday week, everyday was the same until the weekend, then you got to go nuts. Two key points here, we did this as children and our birthdays still weren't as crazy or childlike as Phil. Usually we had a request of a special dinner and mom made you special breakfast, or you could have a few friends to sleepover and eat pizza and play Nintendo all night and have the coveted sugary cereal in the morning.

Phil is a 40 year old man who has to decorate his house like a child and show off to everyone, reminding them that it's his birthday. He has party favors for God's sake. I had more mature and better birthdays as a literal child.

Almost everything I hear about him on a daily basis amounts to "give me money to see games you don't want to see played, give me tips via PayPal and dox yourself, comment on the stream unless it's about drama I don't bring up, only talk about me on the stream, don't 'derail' the stream by talking to each other like normal human beings, believe everything I say, don't question outside sources, and support me so I can feed muh wife and keep muh house." And it doesn't even end when you leave the stream because he begs people to like and comment on the videos when they go up on YouTube and pushes engagement on Twitter. All that to watch a grown man fuck around wearing oversized vests and retarded glasses.

For fuck's sake, Phil, let your fans breathe. Even the smallest streamers ask the bare minimum from their audience, and bigger streamers are no less different. They can only do so much for what little you offer.

Not that I believe for a second that if Phil did it, he wouldn't beg, but what many (nearly all I would assume) streamers who upload videos to Youtube do, is have a short segment at the end of their videos where they list their various social medias (including, Patreon and stuff), recommend other videos of theirs, etc.

It does the job of passively asking for support in an unintrusive way all the while creating a brand of sort since it's present in every single video and usually includes music/imagery/stuff in general that represents them. I think it'd also really benefit Phil because of his "style" (unedited hours upon hours across different videos for each game) since it'd actually create the impression of episodes instead of an endless stream (of sh#t content), allowing people to have a small moment of "Yeah, this was good" and to give them the opportunity to say "Alright, stopping there, I'll come back later".

It's part of those incredibly cheap (efforts- and money-wise) improvements Phil could do that would have good return-on-investment, but that he just won't do. Instead he asks for intro's to his streams which won't change a thing to who tunes into them; Unlike a Youtube video-end-screen, it's just fluff with no real purpose beyond looking more professional.

Dsp started saying these buzzwords when he started to "upgrade" his stream at the start of the year. I'm pretty sure he watched some streamer guide back then because those phrases always amount to a dogwhistle of "please give me money". If something is actually positive or good vibes you wouldn't need need to constantly announce it. I'm guessing the manipulative side of Phil realises there is an inherent guilt to getting something for free for something you enjoy, so he manipulates that to his advantage.

It's always funny that the only defense of piggy is "but everyone else does it too so it's okay for Phillip p burnell to do it" as though other people don't get shit for when they do it. They know how bad it is, they just don't care.

In a way it's the perfect relationship where neither party cares enough about the other.
