Like the Lich Queen, Paige will linger and be a burden forever, fueled entirely by spite and human misery and the marrow she sucks from the bones of her exhausted nurses. Everyone currently posting on this forum will be worm food, paige will be a floating head in a jar like on Futurama having had every other part of her body amputated, and a new batch of Kiwis will be discussing how she’s infecting her neck wounds with SuperMRSA to stay sick,

Living to spite people and make them miserable is a real thing, which anyone who has worked long enough in aged care can tell you.

It takes a certain amount of self-hatred to truly just let yourself die off. Paige just doesn't hate herself enough to surrender. She likes being the person holding the strings and making the puppets dance.

This is somewhat of a different post than usual post. I was conducting screenshots from the account of this woman who claims to have Ehler’s Danilo’s Syndrome, but travels very often and puts many Instagram Stories up which show her to be healthy and move well.

It became clear that she is actually currently in the midst of being a maniac, although I could not say, if it is something clinical. So there is something wrong with her, but certainly not Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome.

She has sent posts regarding her illness in the past, but recently added more illnesses. And she has made posts much more often!

This summer she left for Portugal. I have not conducted screenshots of her travel posts, generally speaking, but this is relevant. This is some information about who she is and will show you that she is excited to go. It seems that she does not have problems with her health which could be a problem.

Here are screenshots. She went on medical leave from Amherst College for some time period which may have been a long of time.

Here are some additional videos and photos from that time period which has passed. They relate to the illness.

Now onto the more recent period of claiming to be very ill. She spent a lot of time in Portugal ( to call back to the first image ) and posted many selfies and videos of travelling throughout this time period. I did not take screenshots, as the photos are boring and the Instagram story videos much more boring even. You may check her account if you doubt this. Here are some posts which are newer, and are regarding her ill health, which became a problem once she got off of the plane and was in the United States of America once again.

This is the full extent of the illness posting thus far. While I am putting this post to you, however, she has begun to make many very crazy image posts about how she is going to save disabled children. I will make another post with these details.

I am continuing my previous post regarding a woman who claims to have ehler’s Danlos Syndrome ( Press X to doubt) and is definitely sick, however, not with that.

It is difficult to keep up with the posts from her current mania, but I have made an attempt to do so. These might not be in the exactly correct order, but they are all posted within a time period which is very short, about 2 days, so I do not believe it is very important exactly when.

Of the understanding I have, it is that this woman had an excellent job in academia, was a successful writer, and traveled much of the time. It appears that she has come out as non-binary, chronically ill, quit a job with a lot of stability and healthcare, decided to create a coding school for children who are disabled, and yet, she cannot code. However, she says she is teaching them right now. Also, she is the Jane Goodall of Autistics. Sad to be sure, but I cannot help but laugh at some of these. Of course, I would like to her posting, but I hope there is somebody in her life who can help her see a doctor who will help with her real illness. Which is not ehler’s Danlos syndrome or dystonia or an eye which was almost lost. I press X to doubt for this but of course she is certainly ill, in the same way Paige or Kelly is ill.

She believes she can speak directly into the brians of other people (brains), is using gibberish language in the posts, and is harassing a random woman named Naffisa. She is also harassing people at Amherst college, and sending them many emails about how she has quit. She is typing this at their social media accounts as well. I am sure they feel relief about this. I have heard it is difficult to fire a college professor. She has solved this problem first.

She is definitely in the midst of an episode, and I do feel for her as this seems extreme (schizophrenia?)

But I also love this:

Thanks for sharing this!
It is sad, this woman is a writer as a profession and can type well, but currently she is very inarticulate. This is quite a look into mental illness, which I did not expect when I began with the screenshots.

I have been reading essays from Freddie deBoer who is a writer with severe mental illness, who has harmed other people genuinely, she has not but this is still very sad.

Of course, however. Yes, some of these photos are very funny. I am still laughing at the Jane Goodall of autistics. I do not think the “autism community” would like to hear someone acting like they are a different species, although clearly this woman wants genuinely to help them in some way.

That is incredibly terrible form. Your toothbrush should never look like that, it means you're using too much pressure; which can cause gum and enamel erosion. Bitch is so dumb, she can't even brush her teeth right. It's scary someone this retarded is legally allowed to drive.
Late as hell, but when toothbrushes look like this it's usually because they're being chewed on. Chances are that she's getting distracted by something (her phone, most likely) and gnawing on her toothbrush absentmindedly.

”Legal Issues Surrounding the Exposure of ‘Munchausen by Internet’” (2007)
Listed Authors: Marc D. Feldman, M.E. Peychers

Internet health support groups face immense struggles when targeted by individuals with factitious-disorder such as Munchausen syndrome. In the most common manifestation of this “Munchausen by Internet,” an individual seeks attention and succor by playing out a series of highly dramatized near-fatal illnesses alternating with recoveries that increasingly strain credulity. Many support groups have been destroyed by infighting in the wake of the deceptive postings.

Writing of the harm that factitious-disorder patients sometimes wreak, Feldman has speculated that “lawsuits would be one way to turn the tables on factitious-disorder patients . . . The odds are good that someday a precedent-setting civil case against a factitious-disorder patient will be waged and won . . . (p 200).”

Although no such lawsuit has, to our knowledge, been reported, we would like to draw attention to a novel legal case from late-2005 that is relevant to the stance a civil court might well take toward a factitious-disorder patient.

A group of online self-help websites that dealt with a particular health problem, and having a worldwide membership of over 7,000, was in turmoil after a prominent member, “Mr. A,” claimed to have undergone many potentially fatal operations, multiple massive heart attacks, and other life-threatening crises. The explanations became increasingly contradictory and were often accompanied by abusive and threatening posts in response to questions or doubts. A team of members set up a dedicated website to publicize their objections; even so, it took more than 6 months of fighting across the whole group of sites before Mr. A was removed and issued lifetime bans from each of the boards. At this point, Mr. A took his accusers to a court in the United States and asked the judge to close down their dedicated website as defamatory. The defendants argued that they were acting in the public interest and that the truth of their statements was a complete bar to liability. In court, the plaintiff’s priority was to have his medical records sealed, but, because many of the most damaging claims involved purported health crises that the plaintiff had himself discussed on the Internet, the judge ruled that the medical records lay at the heart of the accusations and that cross-examination relating to their contents would be allowed. The plaintiff immediately withdrew, and the judge dismissed his case with prejudice, eliminating his right to sue the defendants again on the same charges.

This legal outcome has effectively ceded to the group the ability to expose the individual’s previous deceptions with minimal fear of being sued. That would seem to offer an escape route for any future critics the plaintiff might threaten with legal action; they would presumably need only to claim to be unnamed administrators from the group that had previously emerged to be able to be sheltered under the same legal immunity. This unpublished case offers the implication that the presentation of inconsistent medical details against a person with factitious disorder—or even the prospect thereof—will someday result in a precedent-setting judgment against such an individual.

This case report is Thunk-Provoking. In what ways could this precedent be applied to situations with current MBI suspects in this thread? I’m interested in reading situations where the MBI perpetrator(s) are in the court as the defendant.
I like Feldman. To encourage the exploration of potential legal action towards a previously under-the-radar group is somewhat novel in forensic psychiatry which often focuses more on protection. That he found this case worthy to try and publish suggests to me that he is indeed interested in the possibility of factitious disorder cases being taken to court - where criminal responsibility and the lingering psychological effect something like a trial can have is sometimes a touchy subject for clinicians, it's quite striking to read an article like this. It also begs the question of criminal responsibility where a non-delusional disorder (that is true, recognized and diagnosed) is involved which I guess would start to answer your question at the end.

The closest thing to compare with is malingering, which is not classified as a disorder or a symptom of a disorder, though many munchies do enjoy partaking in a bit of grift. There have been plenty of cases where malingerers have been tried and convicted for fraud (e.g. Belle Gibson) but without a psychiatric diagnosis you wouldn't receive any potential legal protection. Second closest group would be pathological liars (again, many of our girlies here fall into this category). The issue of pathological liars and their culpability has been discussed in psychiatric circles but again it is not a recognized disorder on its own and runs into the same issues. I found this article which had an interesting point on this:
Forensic issues

It is perhaps in the forensic psychiatric arena that the need to clearly define PL is most urgent. The immediate question in these settings would revolve around the issue of competency of the pathological liar to stand trial. The criteria for being competent to stand trial include an ability to work collaboratively with one's attorney in order to confront one's accusers. A defendant who lies frequently and repeatedly to his attorney would ultimately confuse the attorney, making it difficult to formulate a sound strategy of defense.

Another problem is the risk of the pathological liar being accused of perjury when he gives false testimony under oath. In the case of Judge Couwenberg, the State of California Commission of Judicial Performance noted that he did not have a mental condition that excused or mitigated his behavior. The commission concluded that the mere presence of a symptom without any mental disorder is of little legal consequence.

It is easier to argue that PL is not a delusion than it is to say that pathological liars always have control over their lies. Koppen13 observed that the lie ultimately wins power over the pathological liar, so that mastery of his own lies is lost. In addition, PL has a compulsive or impulsive quality. Would it be feasible to say that in some cases the lying behavior was uncontrollable? Such a conclusion, when combined with recent evidence of possible CNS abnormalities in PL, would raise doubts about the degree of responsibility of pathological liars when their lies lead to criminal behavior.
Bold my own for emphasis, but this part strikes a munchie conundrum. Factitious disorder could similarly be found to be a genuine mitigating factor but for that to hold weight it would have to be diagnosed and the defendant thus has to weigh up whether facing the full force of the law is worse than acknowledging their own lies. The other point to make is that the authors are quickly keen to point out a pathologically lying defendant might lack trial competency.

In short I think it would be very hard to take up a civil or criminal case against a non-malingering munchie. Some of the malingerers here could potentially be open to prosecution for fraud and could even lose if medical records were requested by the court. Certainly the doulas who were not paid for their services in the other article you shared could have had a strong case. However, I struggle to see how pure MBIs could face anything unless there was some landmark case preventing people from LARPing as a protected group first (and I'm not necessarily talking about illness or disability here - think Rachel Dolezal). That would be truly novel and I'd be interested to know the perspective of Feldman and of forensic psychiatrists on applying this to munchies.

I'm a few months late with this one, sorry. Alexandra Adams, who says she will be the UK's first deafblind doctor, was on a show called Steph's Packed Lunch at the end of May. I have a video of it, but it's shitty quality. I didn't want to upload this without a transcription but I also didn't really want to transcribe it. But in the interest of it not being lost to the void, here it is.
1659914275033.png

It's really quiet and pretty dark, so you can have an immersive deafblind experience.
I did take the time to add captions to the video, and I'll copy down a transcript here when I have the time to. Her doctors didn't know about EDS, so she will save the day with her compassion.

TLDR: Nothing much new. Alexandra shares a story of how she is so empathetic and caught something the mean normal doctors didn't! She is a phlebotomist. It was less "this is what a deafblind medical student does" and way more "this is how hard my life is and I am so empathetic and I am deafblind"
She seems so normal in a short interview. If only everyone could read her blog.

1659914962183.png
In other news, she now has a page to book her for public speaking. She also claims to have a book coming out soon. Wow, her instagram bio really is not screenreader friendly!
There will be more Alexandra content, just need to get a refill on aderall so I can stay awake through her endless melodrama.

Schizophrenics are so much more interesting than munchies sometimes. It’s wild no one around this women is trying to get her sectioned, this won’t end well very fast.
“ sectioned “ as in hospital, yes? Some one has called emergency services for her, actually. So to me I believe she has friends which are trying to help her, although she is still posting when I checked. So it has not worked yet.

This photo which came last is important. People who know her for a long time are calling her to see if she is okay and some one called the police. Probably to help her. If I know her well (I do not but) I would be very worried by this. I am glad to see people feel the same way I feel who can help. But it has not worked. Maybe soon it will work.

If she’s not making threats to harm herself it’s unlikely anything is going to happen to get her involuntarily committed until she hurts herself or someone else.
So depending on what the laws are where you live, you can also be involuntarily admitted for assessment if you are at risk of harm to your reputation (eg. if you're an academic who would be horrified to discover that you are posing topless in the desert because you would never normally do this).

It could be bipolar mania but it does kind of feel like schizophrenia. Very similar to the schizophrenics I know in the wild and reading her captions she reminds me a lot of Danielle Miller - https://kiwifarms.net/threads/danie...duchess-of-manhattan-duchess-of-disney.86417/
