This is the latest entry in a saga that's been developing for months. She's been leery of dentists fow a while, at least since debut.
I remember when she did the ghost jalapeño ramen stream, she was already experiencing tooth pain from a cavity and said the pepper (paraphrasing) "got into her cavity".
A few months back she was, again, telling chat how she wouldn't drink without a straw (like rethink pointed out) and chat assured her she probably had an abscess and neeeded root canals or straight up teeth pulled out.

IDK if we had any stories like this prior to the pippa days.
I hope Phase has a good dental plan (pfft, yeah, right), because she might be facing a huge dental bill for the new pieces and fillings.

I think Ollie's new outfit is pretty good, but +1 on her second was better. I do like the hair and how bouncy the rigging for it is. No clue how usable that lets it be in collabs. I think I get the idea of the coat what with the shopping bags and such but it really doesn't work for me.


The girls established some sort of rules for Season 2 of Rust.

I don't blame her for being uncomfortable around dentists, there are a lot of shitty ones and if she had problems with them as a kid it would make even more sense. The problem is dentists are a coin flip and you can either get one that is awesome or one that fucks up your mouth for a while. Joking aside on all the fixing stuff, it really does help to have someone there to push you to go and then to pamper you when you're in too much pain to eat.

And holy shit, why did she think a spicy ramen challenge was a good idea with her teeth, that's just masochism at that point. :story:

Even if they don't, she should push for special treatment, she is the face of Phase in a way so she could probably get some extra care. The more important you are in a company, the easier it is for you to push getting benefits earlier, or special benefits.

IIRC, part of the reason she's so fucked with dentists is past trauma due to some visits as a kid. See below:

From what I remember it started out as a really shitty dentist experience she had as a kid. I have a memory of her saying that he gave her fillings on teeth that didn't need it. I am of the belief that her kinda lisp is because the dentist fucked her mouth up for Medicare money. She's given them a wide berth since then. The other part is just negligence on her part. She's talked at lengths about how during her depressed neet years she basically did no self care and her hygiene was almost nonexistent. I don't remember her ever saying anything about having braces.

EDIT:
@reinigen found when this had happened and I was partly wrong. Her story is the dentist yanked teeth that didn't need pulled on top of the bad cavity removal.

If I remember correctly someone in chat asked her if part of her issue was due to watching Jim's video about that Florida dentist, and she said that wasn't the reason but that she had started the watching, but had to stop because it hit too close.

Fuck man. That's sucks. But, you don't want to fuck with your teeth. They are way too close to your brain and you can get sepsis and die very easily if you don't take care of them.

I am really bad with faces but pretty sure it's the same person. The name and industry field check out. However past comments mentioned she probably graduated in 2019-2020 while here it says she was a Psychology graduate as late as 2016 so it might not be her. However if it is her psychology might make sense given her Monday Warriors streams.

You can also die taking care of them. I remember there was a news story where some dude went in for a standard procedure and some of the dust from the tooth gunk they drilled out fell in his throat and into some exposed area and it caused an infection that killed him randomly within a week.

Hey now, if you breed the right kind of autism you get the perfect society, it's just a matter of getting the right combination of 'tisms and avoiding the downie versions. Also the idea of Zax breeding Pippa is one I can live without, just like Null trying to breed with Chantal.
