You would be surprised. You have to do a lot more for people to care even in the military. LGBT acceptance is a big thing in the military now and celebrated. Inspections are usually not random and if they are happening are announced beforehand by supervisors.

As for the theory that's more tricky. I think there is enough circumstantial evidence to indicate he did serve. Like using "v/r" in emails, the uniforms are correct and on-point, he was near a military installation at the time, etc. One other thing to consider is he never claimed to be a badass combat controller or SERE expert like most stolen valor cases

only been here for a few years but for the most part I'm a single thread user, popping in and out of other threads that I may find interesting or just lurk on others. I've seen this kind of behaviour from others too. And I've seen a few new accounts pop up on threads I lurked/vaguely interacted with when shit started hitting the fan for the cow in question. This was pretty common during Da Merge in the Isabella Loretta Janke thread; new accounts would come in to redirect conversation to Fiona, say that ILJ was hot, or just generally shit up the thread.

It wouldn't be that far of a stretch for Sappho to do something like this, or have general gayops from her or her fans. Plus with the thread being featured, more eyes were on it. More eyes means more idiots. Thus far, Sappho's only positive trait is her opsec, and people making accounts to shit up the thread would help maintain that.

But like others have said, it's not uncommon for new farmers to stick to one thread so caution is a good idea.

Reasonably common for any time there's an event from what I've seen. Usually it's lurkers who decided to make an account so they can give their schizo take, like I did when the whole Tim vs. RA thing was happening, or just people coming from other sites that cover that niche thing.
