In my experience, people who identify as "two-spirit" tend to be academics with mixed heritage who didn't actually grow up on reservations. Also it wasn't even a thing among all tribes in North America, but because all they often get amalgamated, it's free game to call yourself "two-spirit" even if it wasn't a concept in your tribe specifically. Then you have asshats who are just LARPing being First Nations for the clout or internet handouts.

Gender spergery is generally the domain of bored suburbanites and college students without more important things to worry about.
