Phil's so predictable. It's always this exaggeration of the truth to make it seem like it's absurd.

He's also forgetting the times he has had the advantage of legit laughing at us getting it wrong, which is actually understandable, since he doesn't really get those. Even with the escort saga, there was truth to the theory. He DID purchase a female companion, out of inability to acquire such on his own merits. And in fact it was worse, because we could respect him working up the spine to fuck, instead of opting out, from extraordinary laziness. Or whatever his problem is there.

But he has had few unnoticeable moments wherein he got put on the spot and didn't do what everyone expects. Chat has straight up asked him if he was gay, and he answered in the negative, with none of the standard giveaways that he was lying or triggered. Phil clearly can't handle it when someone dares to remember what happened on a previous stream, and he's even worse with private shit being figured out, especially as it relates to what he ACTUALLY spends his time doing. He thinks everyone is too stupid to be able to do that, even after all these years, and it never gets any easier for him.

Anyway, the contrast is striking, and really helps to cement it any time someone touches a nerve, which ensures that everyone follows suit by speculating even further, and Phil, being Phil, will almost never avoid getting perfected by such speculation. He simply refuses to live the kind of life that smarter people would have difficulty decyphering.

And yes @Iron Hamster, it doesn't help that this particular knowledge of his offline activities grates on his desire to relax more, because that is exactly what led to him having Champions open on his phone instead of his private Discord, porn, some site focused on wrestling coverage, or just about anything else really. He doesn't regret it, he's mad that people won't let him be so brazen. Remember, he is never wrong, YOU are.

Yes, but Phil's life also would have been very different with a "normal" job.

For one, he'd have far less time to burn on gacha games and especially booze at 2am. He couldn't be regularly finishing high up in these Champions events. He probably would have made less money, but he'd have more money now.

Notice how different Phil is now compared to 12 years ago. He's always had that snaky car salesman ugly fat loser vibe, but at least he was like an actual human loser back then. Now he's a remarkably weird alien only the true dregs of society can relate to.

Phil is the type of guy that always needs someone to keep him in check, and sadly it appears he's rarely if ever had that in life. A co-worker friend or a decent boss could have made all the difference. Maybe even some basic structure to keep him in line, not just the autistic schedule he adheres to now for no reason.

This. The importance of having someone in your life who will not hesitate to say you are acting like a cunt when you absolutely are cannot be overstated. You can pick out people who don’t have that at a thousand yards at any social situation where minor conflicts can possibly ensue.

Thing is, we have plenty of reason to think he did have people checking him, and his response was to turn a deaf ear and run away. I mean he lives in Washington because his mother expressed concerns over his collecting, if that's not an attempt to check someone, what is? We don't know how she worded that, but it doesn't seem like it was an ass-chewing the likes of which we could expect from you or Iron Hamster. It was probably minor, and look what he did.

Not to mention all his stories about his slew of 9-5s. They all indicate that he was warned repeatedly, he gave them the finger, and they gave him the boot. That was almost 15 years ago, and before that we had him running away from anyone in the FGC who had some criticism of him.

Rich was right about Phil demonizing people the instant they try to check him, and the underlying cause is that the shithead refuses to accept the word "No". He has always prioritized his whims over getting along in the world, because he is the center of it in his view. Impede those whims in any way, and his response is, and was, only ever going to be a temper tantrum.

I see no difference between Young Phil refusing to learn from the bad rep he earned shitting up the Shoryuken forum, and Grumpy Old Phil being a drunken, paranoid, hermit cult leader after so many years of expanding upon that rep. The FGC, his mom, his friends, Leanna, his employers, his fellow YouTubers and streamers, they all told him "No", and his reaction never was different at any time.

You and I need friends and family to check us. Phil needs a psych ward to keep him locked up for the good of himself and everyone else. He would never learn to appreciate it, but it would still be the right thing to do.

phil probably would have been an ahole regardless but locking himself his own pocket dimension where he reigns as its god for years definitely worsened things significantly. He's not capable of interacting with people on a normal level not even at the poor level he used to. And he knows it that is why he's so scared of any social interaction now. Shunning even multiplayer and ordering online ahead of time so he can gtfood from even grocery stores like he just admitted to. Imagine if he was really cancelled and he had to go from demigod of his own miniuniverse to flipping burgers at wendy's. The mental shock alone might do him in. If he'd not been able to start this internet thing....okay he probably would find another scam and still become an hermit. But if he was prevented from that he'd probably still be an unpleasant person but with far superior social skills.

This is how Phil internet career will die, not by one big event, but he will make 1k or 2k less a month each year until he eventually ends up making barely anything, Phil story will never end until he dies IMO since he will never leave the internet, but 10 years from now he is going to be a nobody streaming for 10 or 20 people, barely making minimum wage, all his money will be troll tips and the only person talking in his chat will be Derich spamming "what are your top 3 hot dog condiments?" tier questions over and over.
