Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Well that's a shame. I won't say I feel nothing about it, it definitely made my day a little worse - but honestly I'm just happy it's over. If Vic was still in a bad financial situation where he wasn't getting work or appearances even 2 years later I'd have more fire and brimstone in me and think that going up to higher courts would be necessary, but that isn't the case. He's had plenty of successful convention appearances, and now he's got his own studio to work with (which will have more competent management and higher quality pretty much by default) so at this point I think it's better to just cut his losses and move on.

And as others here said, everyone's well set in their ways one way or the other. Maybe some would've swayed if we had actually gotten to the discovery portion of the case, but now we'll never know.

This is the best day of my life, I genuinely wanted them to win, just to see people seeth mald and dilate
I mean yeah I agree, but we would've gotten to see people do that no matter what the result. That's why no matter who loses, we win. The only disappointment on the "laughing at people" front is that there might've been some funny shit dredged up during discovery and now we've lost that opportunity.

So that’s why I saw him trending on Twitter: 9A00C2E1-F82C-4DAF-9132-E1FD8EA79F6D.jpeg
I knew it wasn’t a good thing. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

I think you guys massively overestimate this stuff, crunchyroll is way too big and nothing indicates this is gonna change. The amount of stuff that has some sort of agenda in it is a drop in the bucket compared to the actual number of anime old funimation and now crunchyroll get the rights for
You'd be surprised how quickly people eat up the branding of "Agenda Free" like they ate up the dude who was replacing made in China labels with made in America labels.
Branding AM Studios as such and promoting it whether or not it's actually true is lucrative as fuck, especially since so many of these anime fans overlap with the whole "alt right" that media bitches about. They've got a whole audience to sell to right there, it would be stupid not to exploit it. Literally no work. Some people will consoom just out of spite, some people will buy into it.

If you're gonna be demonized for being "conservative" at least turn around and make that label profitable lmao

Eh, things aren't over yet just because the lawsuit is. Vic's still got a career and his own studio, and fans who'll stand by him.

And Shane Holmberg is still a hilarious shoe-gobbling retard.

All of the abusers, groomers, pedos, sexists, racists, etc and apologists of all of it are in full force. I imagine this will be blowing up on twitter for about half a month while they misinterpret everything to suit their banter. I'm disappointed but we all kinda expected this, "hope for the best, expect the worst" as they say. Justice is hard for defamation, especially if you're a straight white cis male Christian non-leftist etc and not a millionaire.

People seem to forget what this was all really about. Weeb wars was never about the case, which is why we have a separate thread for it. Weeb Wars was always about more, and while the battle that Vic never even cared about (he never even showed up for most of it) that much is over, it itself is just a extremely long and excruciating instance in a bigger story. The Lolsuit was always brought up to be bigger than what it really was, and only was done so because it was the most public part of all this.

Now look at this on the whole, we covered his con outtings, him having fun with Star Trek, twitter bring a worse cesspool than even we, that one furry animated project scam, and really just a bunch of light hearted times Vic was wearing gay pants for. Those are really what weeb wars was, many moments of fans having fun. The lolsuit was just something that people could rally behind like a sportsball game. But in the end, we are really here just to laugh at the spergs and enjoy the moments.

Even Vic has been doxed lol. I still remember Lemon printing out the dex for the depositions… good times.

A hollow victory indeed.

They still haven't proven that he's an actual rapist. So I still think he's innocent. I don't think I will be alone in that belief.

They did however managed to expose how bad at defaming they are and Ty's blundering failure.

Let's see if Ty will redeem himself. I'll be waiting, for better or worse.
🍹

Watching and waiting....waiting and watching...
