Post your Kiwiler

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
How do I make one of these? Or, better yet, how do I convince someone to make one for me?

I vaguely know how to use Gimp but I've never done an gif before and I want my ettercap to wiggle in a kiwi-onesie.
I have a zip file on page 2 with some basic instructions and templates. You need to know about layers because you will be hiding and rearranging them. Also you need to "to new layer" in the layer menu every time you paste something in. Export as gif and be sure to select "animate" and "replace". Here is a quick and dirty video. It would be easier if i narrated but no dox. :)

Thank you, fren! I'll play around with this tomorrow and hopefully work it out

I had a busy day today and unfortunately won't have time to finish painting mine. I did more or less finish the face and got the colors where I wanted them. I probably should have upsized like you but the smaller version seems cuter. I'll have it painted and clear coated tomorrow. Haven't decided if I'm going to decorate the base or not.

Turned out as well as it could using FDM, glow pla, and the detached nose file.
Look at these, our beautiful bastard cute children.... I'm going to cry.... :'(

How do I make one of these?
I vaguely know how to use Gimp
1. Download one of the available templates from the first page of this thread and open it in GIMP. It should look similar to this:
howto1.png

2. Open the picture you want to use as a "face" of the wiggler in GIMP too.
howto2.png

3. Hide all the layers in the template except the one you are going to work on right now. Click on the eye icons on the Layers sidebar to hide them.
howto3.png

4. Select the "face" image, click on "Select" -> "Select All", copy it and then paste it into the template
howto4.png

5. Right-click on the "Floating Selection (Pasted Layer)" and click on "To New Layer"
howto5.png

6. Move the newly-created layer under the visible layer on the template
howto6.png

7. Move the picture on the "face" layer so there is no transparency on the face of the wiggler, Rotate it so that it is in sync with the rest of the wiggler, and remove the excesses so that nothing sticks out from under the template layer.
howto7.png

8. Once you're done, right-click on the template layer above the "face" layer and click on "Merge Down"
howto8.png

9. There you go, layer done. Click on the eye on the newly-meged layer to hide it, and then click on where the eye was on the template layer above it to make it visible again.
howto9.png

10. Repeat the steps 4-9 with the remaining layers until you get the whole thing done. Once you're done, make sure all the layers are visible again.
howto10.png

11. Now all you need to do is save it. Click on "File" -> "Export As"
howto11.png

12. Write the name of your GIF animation (make sure there is a .gif at the end), click "Export". In "Export Image as GIF" window, click on "As animation", make sure that "Frame disposal where unspecified" is set to "One frame per layer (replace)", then click on Export again
howto12.png

13. And here you go, your animation is ready
