Also, he has panicked about the title to such a point that it no longer even makes sense. Yes, people “really Get” art. That’s why there’s art galleries. That’s why everyone in the world has some manner of art, regardless of taste, in their home, or more broadly speaking, in their regular diet for consumption. It’s why even the earliest humans took time out of survival, to creat things for their own intrinsic beauty.

No one is asking wether people “get” art- unless they are a cyborgic humanoid whose only urge is empty self advancement, whose only “use” for art also fits that bill.
To impress, or advance.
That is who would ask that question..

Jesus, is this the third time he's changed it now?

Its funny, not too long ago he was bragging about moving away from youtube to pursue 'real' work in acting, but he seems to be desperately chasing the algorithm more than ever to the point that his highly produced, highbrow intellectual video essays are looking more and more like some reaction channel trying to clickbait people into watching. Just the fact that he's had to resort to putting Duchamp's fountain on the thumbnail in addition to his face (as always) shows that much.

I guess this confirms he's acutely aware of his dwindling viewership. He's got, as of now, 1.2 million subscribers, which should theoretically translate to a minimum of a million views on every video he drops and he's nowhere near that.

Jeez Chube, I thought you were above this as a "highbrow" creator. This neurotic obsession with appearance will be your downfall.

Sad clowns like Paul Legrand and Emmett Kelley had far more cohesive looks, possessed actual talent, entertained thousands and were capable of evoking a sort of dignified pathos (unlike Ollie, who evokes undignified bathos).

This is just sad. Not even sure he cares about the actual thesis of his video more than just drawing in viewers.

Does he not understand that sometimes videos bomb? A lot of my favourite creators have the occasional video that underperforms, but not a single one has changed the title and thumbnail.

What are the list of titles his video has gone through by now?

It sort of reminds of Cracked.com, back when that site was halfway relevant they would always, without fail, change the title of an article unnecessarily and it was clearly to boost its visibility in things like a google search. At least with Olly he owns up to the fact that he's enslaved to the algorithm, the Cracked staff would always pretend that they did this because the original title wasn't clear enough or some shit like that.
