reddit General

A redditor who lives in Toronto and makes 150k working in tech still lives with his parents at 30 and is very, very proud of it, deciding to act like a teenager when called out and to make fun of other redditors

This is guaranteed satire/trolling, but the other comments take it very seriously. In typical Reddit fashion it’s not very funny.

r/WhitePeopleTwitter is filled with AWFLs and literal white liberals patronizing and lecturing other white people on how to be better at being “white”. You can’t convince me otherwise.
It's been like that since they Great Bannening. It used to be a parody sub with some mild shitting on the libs. That content has been all nuked.

Because Canada has built an identity around being like “look how much better we are than those barbaric Americans!” Even though they’ve got their own nasty set of problems, just like literally every country in the world. Kinda pathetic, honestly.

This is so dead on, I gotta commend you.

Come to Canada as a foreigner, and you’ll quickly realize that aside from the metric system and an occasional French sign, it looks a whole lot like the US.

Yet talk to people, and you’ll quickly find out that they take immense pride in not being yanks.

This is a little confusing, so you might start asking: What exactly are the differences? You’ll get either a dead stare, or a leaf mumbling about “we have socialized healthcare.”

(The biggest exception are the old time leafs, who still remember some of the “Rah! Britannia! The Somme!” They used to teach in schools.)

There is one major difference.

It’s too bad our current flag is super gay. The Red Ensign which we fought under during both World Wars was based.

Canadian Stormtroopers were some of the best soldiers on the Anglo-American Zionist empire side.

This is literally the top post of all time in that subreddit:

I'd be inclined to say good, stay there and don't come back, and be happy that the people who vote for shit are gone. The thing is though, they end up voting absentee in US elections anyway...

To this day, despite having worked in both the US and Canada for over two decades, I still can't tell the difference between the accents. Canadians and Americans come across as completely identical to anyone not from Canada or the US, largely.

It is very possible to still have that dream, JennyFromdablock. Just get a degree in something that will actually make you money to pay off those loans, and don’t move into a super expensive metropolis like NYC, LA, or Chicago. I promise there are plenty of smaller, nicer, more affordable towns where you can rent an apartment and still get your overpriced Starbucks everyday.
