Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Many forms of microcephaly aren’t detected till the critical anatomy scan at 18 weeks.
Even then it's not a guarantee. Claire Hartley's microcephaly was missed at this ultrasound because it was still within normal range of development. Lola's head was also within normal range at around the same time, but on the small side. They probably would've missed it too if Gwen wasn't high risk due to Claire and had to come back in a week, at which point they could confirm she had microcephaly as well.

I don't think most pregnant women know what the real point of this scan is. I think the majority only think it's to determine the sex of the baby, which apparently isn't always possible based on the fetus' position (at least, this was true years ago). And then they receive a devastating diagnosis instead.

But what bothered me worse were the people who would stroke her ego when she'd complain about the meanies online. "Sophia is beautiful" I saw one woman I know (a cow in her own right) tweet. Like, it's one thing not to be mean, it's another to actively lie. It's just bizarre behavior.
Same thing happens with progeria kids. Slap their photo on the internet and say something stupid like "Like if you think he/she's beautiful!" and bask in the free asspats. Doesn't even have to be your kid if you really want "everyone" to know how kind you are. Absolutely disgusting behavior (and doubly so when the kids in question are perfectly aware that they're far from beautiful).

That story about the child with CCD is legitimately one of the most horrifying things I've read on the farms, and I'm very active in the Luna thread. Jesus Christ.

I agree about Natalie Weaver. Not to sound cruel, but her daughter had to be one of the most grotesque children I'd ever had the misfortune of seeing. A human jump scare. Natalie forcing her daughter on the public and then getting mad that people had unkind things to say bordered on delusional. This is the internet! I never consented to look at her deformed daughter, and I doubt her daughter ever consented to being paraded around like a freak for... attention? Pity? Ass pats? Sadism? I don't even know. I feel mean saying all this but give me a break.

I can't say what I would do if my child were deformed like that, but I do know I would be kind enough to protect them from the cruelty of the world and not force them into a role where I'm making an example of them for attention.

Ugh rate me, I didn't mean to rant.
Oh I don't think she's perfect, far from it. But she went out there and changed things instead of just complaining. And the changes are things that actually benefit people besides herself. It's Karen behavior though to expect all of humanity to become understanding and accepting of deformities just because of her daughter. I don't think they should have to stay locked away from society, but come on... if disabled people can get used to stares and questions, so can Natalie.

I could get if she made the freakshow/talk show circuit rounds for a bit then fucked off with the money to privacy like Julianna Wetmore's parents did, but yeah if she was being like Gwen that's fucked.

a woman in Louisiana is being forced to carry her baby with acrania (will be born without a skull) to term. if i’m understanding this right, it’s because the hospital doesn’t consider the baby’s condition to be life-threatening for the mom and the baby is technically alive, therefore not a suitable candidate for an abortion.

article w/bypassed paywall

That story is BEYOND fucked. Louisiana also voted that abortion has no constitutional protection. so people, more than the courts, decided that.

There have been several articles I've showed others - to snide mockery - on how one women was left to bleed NINE DAYS from a botched Miscarriage in Missouri. Abortion is banned there. Despite it being a miscarriage, they refused to give her the medication to end it. Why? Because they still view it as murder despite their insistence it isn't. The hospital refused to help her.

Another Texan woman, whose child was wanted, had a fetus with no cardiac activity. Three ultrasounds were demanded of her. Abortion refused, despite it being a dead baby. They wanted her to give birth to a dead child.

Another woman had a dead fetus and instead of an abortion...they induced labor. This woman was screaming in agony over giving birth to a dead baby. Knowingly. At least in ancient times you had a vague hope it was alive.

They do this to raise birth rates. Traumatizing women causes birth rates to crash.
This angers me so I'm just gonna try to be civil and not get hats.
Every single last Bible thumper and all of the politicians responsible for overturning RvW should be forced to be present at the birth of this thing and be forced to hold it up close. I hope this woman has resources to leave the state permanently.
I'll accept them too. You cannot be a follower of Christ while demanding a woman give up her labour for a dead fetus. They did this during the stem cell thing in the early 2000s: they got it banned because pro lifers were crying about fetal tissue. The WI-38 cell line also used fetal cells, yet those fetuses died to save HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS. Maybe billions. They weren't flushed away.

The men who sign these bills all have one thing in common: they all want healthy babies. The MOMENT a spud is born they are the first to strike down any maternity care or help, citing "it's too expensive."

Well, they can fucking take it then. Since you wanted it born so badly.

I planned on quoting but opted not since I’m about 20 pages late and it’s a loose relation, a few were talking about tard wrangling stories and it reminded me of a mildly humorous incident.

A friend of mine worked with people with disabilities, one of the duties was to take them out and about. Nothing in particular, just do something besides being home. So, he went to the mall with a dude with angelman syndrome (iirc).

It was around Christmas and there was a mall Santa and he thought it would be a great idea for this spastic to meet him and say hello.
They walk up and this Santa is doing his thing and then BAM this tard punched the Santa in the mouth.

As they were leaving this guy back handed a woman’s glasses off her face.

All the while tard boy is smiling and laughing. What a life.
Couldn‘t pay me enough, bless those that do.

(Mobilefag and also exceptional so forgive my shit composition.)

What has always left me super confused about Christians and the abortion issue is god ordered the murder of every first born child in Egypt ffs. Not fetus - any first born child straight up murdered.

My parents had this fancy red leather Bible in the house when I was a kid and it had beautiful full color plate renaissance paintings reproduced in it I liked to look at. The one of an Angel with a bloody sword just removed from a small child with a bleeding slit wound on its chest fascinated and horrified me. It lead me to believe God was pretty cool with dead babies abs children. He seemed to make a lot of them if he got big mad.

(It also made me real distrustful when I later got the “Jesus loves the little children” propaganda stuff at Sunday school. Jesus needed to have a talk with Dad if he really liked children that much.)

With Angelman syndrome it's generally thought people understand more than they can verbalize, so I wouldn't be surprised if the guy knew exactly what he was doing being a shit to Santa just for shits and giggles. Hopefully his carers let him know that shit wasn't ok.

Yeah the Bible itself doesn't say anything about abortion directly and if anything, given how much straight-up infanticide it contains you'd think embryos/fetuses would be a non-issue to Abrahamic god.

That said I also understand that when the Bible was written, and for most of human history, babies were kinda expendable because of how high the infant mortality rate was. I doubt most of the spuds featured ITT would have even been born alive in biblical times.

It's typical Bible thumping hypocrisy. They cherry pick verses and ignore the rest. I'm sure that's some kind of blasphemy and they better hope their loved ones bury them with plenty of sunblock.

I know abortions are increasingly rare after the 10 or so week mark, but I wonder if there's a slight spike in numbers around the 20 week mark specifically due to that being when a shitton of FUBAR fetal anomalies are diagnosed?

I remember a while back prolifers were screeching about an experiment where scalp tissue from fetuses aborted around 20 weeks were grafted onto rats. They were clutching pearls going on about how said fetuses totally would've survived as premies and shit even though I strongly suspect given the gestational age, that at least some of the donated fetuses were aborted/donated after getting devastating news at the 20 week scan.
I clicked on "horrifying" because I strongly suspect that the babies' parents did not give consent for their children to be used in an experiment like this.

Still way less horrifying than what fundies do to dead spud fetuses (cumjars in the fridge, forcing actual living kids to look at them, etc).

Evangelicals weren't even so anti-abortion until fairly recently. They saw it as a Catholic issue.
True, even the Founders weren't so concerned over it. There's a huge tone by Joseph Dellapenna, the book referenced by Alito, where he wrote they always disapproved of it and how it was always illegal. In 2006 he wrote a response to a woman who critiqued his book, saying she didn't read it or else she'd know all the things women used to induce abortion.

Which contradicts his claim: even when illegal, it didn't stop women from doing it.

I don't know about Natalie Weaver. First of all, I think she was disingenuous about Sophia's condition. Rett syndrome is not associated with facial clefting. I don't know if she did it deliberately or what, but she definitely made it seem like Rett syndrome was the primary cause of all Sophia's issues, and that is doing a massive disservice to other girls with RS.

Also, she was pretty fond of parading Sophia all over the Internet and then getting mad when people asked questions about her appearance. To me it almost seemed like she was baiting people into saying something so she could freak out. Obviously, cruel and mocking comments about a child who has no say in the matter aren't acceptable, but Natalie would become completely unhinged in an EDUCATE YOURSELF!!!! fashion in response to even well-intentioned questioning.

She actually reminds me a lot of Gwen Hartley.

Edited to say that there's a similar disorder called childhood disintegrative disorder, also known as Heller syndrome or childhood disintegrative psychosis. Patients develop mostly normally until early childhood, then begin to regress and lose all their skills. It's horrifying to watch. I have a young relative with it who is now nonverbal, nonambulatory, and in diapers after developing normally until he/she was preschool aged. The last intelligible speech he/she had was, "help me, I'm scared". He/she would wander around the house hitting his/her head and repeating "help me, I'm scared" in a monotone. Obviously, it was horribly distressing for the parents and other observers. He/she truly DID appear to be frightened; it wasn't just autistic scripting.

Here's another article about CDD.

CDD is so fucking spooky. Sometimes I wonder if run of the mill autists have the same thing; they just got it as babies instead of preschoolers, so they couldn’t let anyone know. The early developmental progress could be explained as autistic scripting, like you said. Severe autism is bad but I think it’s easier to stomach when thinking of them as always being in their own autistic world and not as normies gone horribly wrong.

I really hate seeing disabled people of any type or age, or even normal people who belong to a racial or ethnic minority, being turned into a Facebook meme.

BTW, if you look into why abortion was criminalized in the first place, it originally had nothing to do with the baby; it was about what it could do to the mother! Like any other surgery in the pre-antibiotic era, it was very dangerous.

I, too, find the lack of noses very uncanny, whether genetic or bad plastic surgery. Squicks me out fully.

This is how different degrees of holoprosencephaly (when the brain hemispheres don’t fully divide) cause the facial feature to not fully spread out.
