yeah. this one hits particularly hard. his post history is depressing. attempts suicide not even a week after the surgery and feeling the fear and regret.

the guy who DMed him not to get the surgery was the most clear “DONT FUCKING DO IT” sign he could’ve received. his post history up until that point was on the fence and indecisive, he knew deep down he shouldn’t do it. other commenters, his doctors, and his family, were all giving him every sign he needed. every time he could’ve decided to listen but he let his impulse win.

usually posts on here just evoke disgust but this ones different. not just the botched surgery but the fact that he went against everyone’s advice, despite all the warnings. just days before his surgery he is LUCKY to have someone try to be blunt with him and tell him the reality of what his life will be like after the surgery. that DM was the last bit of hope for him, like the universe itself telling him its a horrible idea.

maybe the consequences of his selfishness and impulsivity was a lesson he had to learn in life. if that’s the case then it’s going to be pretty short lived. he has a month or two left at best.

i still wonder how his mom is going to feel. she’ll be kept up at night with a never ending sense of guilt, wondering where she went wrong, why she didn’t try harder to stop him. his family will be traumatized for life with a sense of loss that i could never even begin to imagine.

meanwhile the doctors who overlooked all of this guys problems, knew there would be complications, and didn’t properly mentally assess him, will walk off holding a bag of cash as if nothing even happened. i know people are hopeful that the lawsuits will start being filed soon, but that’s not good enough. it needs to happen now. this guy is 22 and even as an adult does not have the impulse control to be able to consent to a surgery like this. there is no excuse for the doctors who approved him for the surgery.

I think this is why it's important to have a place like the Farms which can document all these horrors. I haven't come across anywhere else showing the reality of what these surgeries are like. If this thread stops even one troon who hate reads the farms from going through with this, then it is a complete success in my book. (see troons, as much as I feel distaste for you, I still don't want you to be maimed and live in pain).

As a medic myself, I am quite worried that if this is allowed to continue, in 2-3 decades we will reach good enough results that will make it more and more difficult to tell. There's also the tendency to transition children, after years of puberty blockers which have stopped the natural development of sex characteristics.
This is one of the reasons that I don't really bind my beliefs on the horrors of current SRS and HRT, but on biological reality and essentialism.
TL;DR the longer this is allowed to continue, the more money will be spent on it, the more money will go into new surgical techniques and materials, the more accepted it will become with the younger generations, to the point where it is impossible to stop.

Societies are in permanent flux. Cultures, the same. There's the biological, nature layer, and the nurture layer.
Well, we are in very deep danger, because the people that are able to make these differences you mentioned, or willing to make them, are slowly dying. Education is hard progressive and targeting DEI, not reality. Zoomers are gayer and gayer, and more detached from reality each year. The "femboys" that were groomed on keffals' catboy ranch for example, they are all on HRT, and consider blockers, HRT and SRS as normal.
So we have a huge educational and cultural apparatus in the "West" that is very, very corrupted and focused on normalizing these horrors.
Add to this:
- social media restrictions and non-stop purges of dissident thought on Ts, creating an artificial favoring of one side over the opposition
- political protections against "discrimination", sheltering of sacred cow groups; funding of NGOs that are all progressive, fines&persecution for dissidents in UK or Canada etc.
- medicine and tech advancing, which it will. You can consider the current wave of troons as experimentation material. The experiments will continue, and the results will slowly improve IMO, an opinion based on studying/working in the hospital for 20-ish years now. The advances in surgery and medicine have been constant and fast paced, which I assume it's a controversial opinion these days considering the topic and the pandemic fails, but there are bumps in every road.
This is a very toxic cocktail and a very serious danger. We cannot rely on people being "normal", because they aren't anymore. Cannot rely on states on institutions "doing the right thing" either.
We, the normal people, will expire in a few decades. All that will be left (if we fail to win this conflict) will be origami meat void enjoyers and people that have grown up with complete normalization of the abnormal and deviant.
TL;DR - it won't change by itself. It'll go to hell unless somebody puts the breaks back on and accountability happens.

If the medical side can stop unethical experimentation on uninformed patients, and advance in a practiced and appropriate way to get to a future where our bodies are fully customizable, that's a fine goal for the species.

To think that the future will be, or even should be, the same as the past- that's ridiculous. Old norms will die, change is inevitable.

The experiments being done on people right now is what's at issue, there are ways to advance that involve only adult, informed consent and which should be the only option.
To oppose that medical progress, is inconsistent with any position that asserts each person's freedom. To push for ethical boundaries to be dropped for convenience, calling it "gatekeeping", endangers uninformed or underage patients.

The center path on this is the safest and sanest.

Yeah, I don't know how we get there. I have to hope that society continues to call this abhorrent shit out. Plus, trends/ideas/beliefs tend to pendulum swing hard in the opposite direction from generation to generation. It's all I can cling to to keep from becoming completely disenfranchised.
