I'm going to say my piece and suggest this trans-oriented board should NOT be in BP. BP has a very specific ruleset and standards which will ultimately limit lolcow discussion and unnecessarily segregate troons between "gender critical" and "non-gender critical" lolcows. All troons are cows and need to be kept together and discussed equally. Besides, what about FTM cows? This board is already oriented towards insane MTF troons and how they are destroying women's space (very true) but if FTM issues come up and we discuss issues with women thinking becoming a man is better and eventually detransitioning (FTMs detransition much more often than MTFs), that can lead to some very uncomfortable posts for BP. Besides, being a "gender critical" board, people are going into here w/o a goal to laugh and have fun (more of a TERF HQ), we'll get some irritating conflicts of interest...

^like this shit. If, for example, a notable feminist lolcow says something pro-trans, that kind of discussion will be discouraged by BP. I'm all for these "safe space" boards, but I feel many of these cows will loose a bunch of critical discussion and general spergy mayhem (which is what makes this free for all site fun). We need a tranny board independent from the other sections of the site where we put ALL trans lolcows. This can be a kind of tran-mark of the beast section or something.

...unless this is all a way for Null to legitimize the farms with TERF communities. It's a good alliance for now but I'm concerned an ugly civil war will happen down the line.

Yeah, I think this subforum would probably make more sense under the lolcow farms than the lolcow salon, since the topic's more similar to something like Animal Control, being a broad group of lolcows tied together via a single unifying characteristic (furries for animal control, and troons for this place), and a lot of these troon cows attract a mixed-gender audience like Keffals and Kevin Gibes, compared to the other lolcow salon sections mostly having cows with an overwhelmingly female audience (with only a few exceptions like Nikocado).

You're right about the stuff regarding FtMs though, TERFs tend to be a lot softer on FtMs than MtFs, seeing them more as "poor souls that were groomed into becoming trans" as opposed to "sex pests who want to intrude into female spaces for sexual gratification", and treating them mostly with pity rather than the vitriolic hatred they reserve for MtFs. That could potentially stifle discussion on said lolcows when the majority of the userbase feels bad for them. We'll just have to see how the few threads here on FtMs end up going over the next few weeks.

To be at least somewhat constructive, I suggest Ellen Page's thread get moved here as well. We need more FTM troons and the insanity/discussions that come from them. If BP is as good as you say it is (and I have no reason to doubt you), there should be no issue having FTM troons and discussion of the pertinent issues here...

This isn’t just a men thing—I know I’m not the only woman on the board who spends far more time on the other site areas and barely enters BP, so I only have a passing familiarity with the culture in this subsection. I disagree with moving most of these threads here. Gender critical is a feminist viewpoint that naturally opposes transgenderism and while it's true there are many such women on kiwi farms, the large majority of people who read Sophie Labell, Brianna Wu, Keffals etc. threads are men who are old regular users of the farms who probably don't identify as any kind of feminist. Most of the commentary in those threads is "ha ha look at this degenerate faggot" and very little gender critical or uniquely female commentary. It's not the same crowd, so to speak.

To add to this, there are plenty of (real) women posters here who reject feminism (libfem as well as plenty of aspects of radfem) and see the trans BS as very much adjacent to it (i.e. the flattening of gender/girl power/"men are trash"/"women can do anything the same as men"). If you don't fit in on TERF twitter or Ovarit, the farms & the sideshows thread are a very meaningful alternative.

Being able to just point & laugh at the tragicomic absurdities w/o being constantly reminded about [insert feminist angle here] is refreshing. So is being able to read truly wide-ranging views on TQ from a lot of different types of people – not just political GCers.

While I like the new genderblob grouping overall, I hope the thread vibes stay the same.

There's a difference between a small trickle of new users (like it's been so far), and a flood. A small trickle you can integrate relatively easily, a massive flood can potentially outnumber the old users and maintain their old site culture instead of adopting that of their new host. This is especially the case if they're all concentrated in a single subforum where they can end up constituting the majority, like the digital equivalent of a Chinatown. If somewhere like Mumsnet, Crystalcafe or another TERF-majority website goes kaput, this place may very well get the brunt of those site's refugees, and that's a LOT of new potential users with a vastly different posting culture. The exact same thing happened with A&N, it got flooded with /pol/spergs during the 2020 elections when a lot of right-leaning spaces on other sites got banhammer'd, and it's still basically an ethnic ghetto right now, but instead of getting stabbed you get called racial slurs.

It's not an inevitable problem, but it's certainly one to keep in mind, lest it go the same way that the dozens of other sites that failed to effectively integrate large quantities of new arrivals have.

Also I'm still disturbed from the one time I had to argue with a self-identified TERF on this site who insisted that it's not that serious a crime if an adult woman rapes an underage boy, but that's irrelevant to the discussion at hand.

As discussed on the TERF thread could you not 'fork' the Tranny Social Media thread and keep it in community watch for the rest of us and have a 'terf version' here. The Tranny Social Media thread used to be one of the funniest threads on here until the terfs turned up in numbers and ruined it with their humorless feminist sperging. (Seriously go back a few years before the terf invasion, the tenor of thread is completly different before they sucked all the fun out of it)

That's already happened here though, the TERFs that have come to KF over the last few years made no attempt to lurk/integrate into the farms' 'culture'. They've just turned up enmasse sperging their humorless hysterical bullshit, shouted down any opposition, and whined and cajoled the site into submisson.

A lot of Tifs tend to be gay porn addicts in the sense that Tims are lesbian porn addicts. So most pushback tends to be from gay men. Bimen are often indifferent and the most accommodating to Tifs as are desperate straight men, who are willing to play along.

Plus Tifs aren’t trampling male sports. And even if they could it’s be a sport the majority of men don’t care about. In contrast Tim’s do wreck havoc on female sports. This pisses off not only female athletes, but athletic families who care about how well their daughters do. It also pisses off coomers who are into female athletes because they don’t want to see some ugly dude in a swimming or beach volleyball event. Tim’s also are obvious deviants. A normie looking at a Tif won’t realize she’s a sexual deviant but a guy in a dress sets off alarm bells.

Lastly, I don’t want a man in a dress approaching my daughters in the bathroom offering to help them with their tampons. I instinctively want to murder him, chop off his balls if he hasn’t already, and flay him alive. It’s not kosher to admit this in public but that is my instinct when it comes to my protecting my daughters. I don’t have this instinct for a Tif because I’m confident my sons could kick her ass. Predatory gay men are another issue altogether, but I would defend my sons from them as well.
