Transcarpathia in the steppes of Kherson.
Now, apart from all the others, the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been thrown into the Kherson suicidal meat grinder. Most military publics saw nothing unusual in this. Well it is clear. They don't see much in their cleverness. Now everyone is surprised at how this counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was organized. With the superiority of the allied forces in artillery and aviation, this really seems like suicide. But what was the purpose of all this? It is not visible at a glance.
What if you look closely?
The full name of the 128 brigade is the Gorno-Assault Transcarpathian Brigade! The 128th brigade includes three infantry regiments and one tank regiment. Infantry regiments are stationed in Mukachevo, Beregovo and Uzhgorod. These are the areas in which there is a large Hungarian population of Transcarpathia. And Berehove, in general, is the center of the Hungarian community of Transcarpathia. And what was there in Transcarpathia on the eve of a new phase of the war? And in Transcarpathia, just the Hungarians and Buzili.
Tellingly, in 2014, part of this brigade was able to escape from the Debaltsevo cauldron. This operation was carried out jointly with the military command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Sergei Shaptala commanded the brigade at that time. For this breakthrough, Poroshenko awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine. Now Shaptala heads the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And yet, he is not from Transcarpathia. He comes from the Chernihiv region.
And a very interesting picture emerges. In 2014, Shaptala, risking his life, withdraws the 128th brigade from the boiler. In 2022, the chief of the general staff, Shaptala, sends the same brigade to the slaughter. And how and why did his attitude towards the brigade, which for some time was his own, change?
To answer this question, it is necessary to conduct a memorable excursion in the summer of 2014. And remember one episode of that time. The death of part of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Zelenopolye. I then spent a lot of time on this episode. And for some reason, I came to the conclusion that these units were specifically exposed to a murderous blow. Why did I think so?
At that distant time, the main tone in relation to the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was set by Tymchuk's talking helmet. According to his brave reports, the APU had no losses at that time. But in the case of Zelenopolye, everything happened differently. During the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Zelenopolye, a teleconference was organized live on Ukrainian television with the remnants of Ukrainian military personnel. They talked on the air about the horror that happened there. Against the background of "no losses", it looked wild and scary. And the chest was very easy to open.
The main losses near Zelenopolye were suffered by the 79th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Nikolaev brigade, which was quartered in Nikolaev and the region. In one of the most Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine. And these terrible details were needed to change the attitude of the population of Nikolaev towards the Donbass and Russia. Change in a negative direction.
A similar thing is happening now in relation to Transcarpathia. Which looks like a wolf at Ukraine. And the losses of the 128th brigade are needed in order for the population of Transcarpathia to look like a wolf not towards Ukraine, but towards Russia. To weaken the influence of the Hungarian population of Transcarpathia.
And the destruction of the 128th brigade in an offensive that had no chance of success is also a slap in the face for Hungary. Which conducts an independent policy in the European Union. Against the backdrop of sanctions that harm the European Union more than Russia. Hungary, which closely supervises the Hungarian population of Transcarpathia.
There is nothing surprising in this. Since 2014, since the second Maidan, the leadership of Ukraine has been leading it to death. And such episodes, from Zelenopolye and the steppes of Kherson, confirm this very clearly.
