If the game is good, then the game is good. This kind of shit happens all the time, but it never stopped me from enjoying games. Subnautica scrapped plans for guns when it was in development as a response to Sandy hook and advocates for gun control. Stellaris added the wasteful trait to humans in response of Trump pulling out of Paris Agreement. HoI4 titled the start of the American Fascist tree "America First" and included voter registration act as part of that tree. My land added the Ukrainian flag to the cover.

The only actual difference is that game journos agree with the things above so they either ignore it or report on it positively.

Edit: Also, how could I forget the lead dev for Stellaris calling fans sexist because they thought that the Militarist Adviser Voice should sound more like a professional soldier and not like a retarded edgelord.

The only two games I know of that were banned were something called Active Shooter, meant to simulate a school shooting; and Super Seducer 3, for having risqué FMVs featuring real actresses. The latter broke explicit rules on Steam publishing, though Super Seducer 1 and 2 are still for sale. I think the former was just banned for bad press.

Seems like you really, really have to push it in order for Steam to drop you.

A lot of people are underestimating the degrees to which Valve seems to stick their neck out for shit just so they can take that sweet sweet 30% cut. With the exception of those two you listed I think the only time I have ever seen them pull games is just regionally restrictions if a game is banned somewhere. I think they took Rimworld off the Australian store for a while when it got banned there.

If if the screenshot the dev posted is to be believed then they did not taken just for this. They just got fed up with his ongoing spergy behavior. I'm not fully convinced this isn't still just some kind of marketing ploy. The only thing steering me away from it is that you can't buy the game right now because he never put it on any other fucking storefronts.
