Yeah I just wish Kronii listened to her manager. I understand that for content creators, responding to this kind of shit is extremely fucking difficult, but there's a reason why you take in criticism, no matter how valid or invalid they may be, silently. Depending on the kind of mistake you made, you might need to respond, but in this case, she absolutely did not need to. It's an actual unspoken rule. Mori, Nyanners, Rushia and Finana got fucked over for this shit. You know something's wrong with the world when Kiara of all people is handling criticism better than they did these past few months.
seriously man it so cringe. when shit like this happens, especially when its just the minority you fucking ignore it. dont bring any credibility to insane gachikois by giving them the attention they want.

then we got fuckers like this guy:

one of the comments:

"bruh. "for the most part, a majority of people did enjoy the collab, but we cant ignore the fact.." dude stop right there. khyo, can CAN ignore this shit, it is precisely what you should do. the fact most people enjoyed it why even bother covering the minority that didnt??? the only reason the minority detractors are so LOUD is because youre giving them a platform. khyo youre doing the exact thing they want: giving them attention. i hope the clout was worth it my dude. the fact the collab was what like 3/4 days ago and people are still talking about the "drama" is only perpetuated by videos like this. people enjoyed the collab . full stop. so far as i can see any criticism of the collab is hardly news worthy. this type of shit only harms the people involved by prolonging this drama and quite frankly its all around cringe. please. seeing her response was cringe. seeing the gachikois were cringe. people riding on this "drama" like you are cringe. please stop. dude youre just becoming thinly veiled keemstar. at least keemstar was upfront with his content. this whole fence-sitting, nice-guy visage is getting old. youre vtuber keemstar with extra steps."

Quite surprised Suisei beat Gura since I'm pretty sure she averages 15k+ every time she streams while Gura averages 25k+ (im eyeballing this since this is where usually i see her numbers everytime her stream appears on my recommended. Could be more or less)
Then again, Gura hasn't been streaming that much iirc
Here are fresh numbers for the month of August.

Speaking of numbers, it's the August 2022 edition of that thing where you can point somewhere on it and go "haha my team number more gooder than yours retard", because that's how Vtubing works - "I honestly can't be fucked to colorcode, you'll be fine, you're probably not five years old" edition.

Anything related to an indie or group/corpo outside the big ones should link either to their YT channel, or wiki page, since you probably know the big ones. This is also a good moment to mention that these are still the most super-chatted Vtubers on YouTube, so even if they are at the bottom of this list, they are still doing relatively fantastic.

Something that I feel has been noteworthy in these charts is just how many of these are produced by Brave Group. Despite the absolutely fucking abysmal way they treated Game Club Project, they appear to have gathered a very comfortable place in the industry, to the point you could arguably call them the current #3 Vtuber company in Japan, especially thanks to ESPO and Aogiri.

I honestly wish I could automate this to make these lists larger; even the top 100 already shows some indies and groups nobody ever discusses in the West, so I'd imagine going even deeper would show more interesting results. Who knows, maybe that way these could be useful for more than just numberfagging.

Yeah I wish these metrics would capture corpos + relevant indies. I don't care for talking about who does better than who, but I do like seeing how the chuubas are doing independantly of each other.

all these ranking and stuff got me wondering...does nijisanji promote their brand by slapping their vtubers faces on some snacks and drinks? I know lawsons and some other stores has tons of holo related merch.

I know niji is still more popular in Japan when compared to holo, but just haven't seen much of their merch.

one of the comments:
Half the comment section is trying to spin this as "Idol culture bad" which is hilarious to me. It's not idol culture, it's mentally handicapped, parasocial subhumans who think the anime girl on screen owes them her virginity because they're retarded enough to throw cash at her. Are people like Tenno and Henri only a problem because Pippa is too deep into idol culture? I'm sure someone is retarded enough to say yes, but that's beside the point.

It feels like anyone who has to resort to bringing up idol culture as catch-all reason to blame for anything bad happening is a fucking Vshojonigger, who thinks if the streamer chooses to not constantly talk about "pee pee poo poo muh vagina hurts", or if they personally choose to not collab with dudess like Kiara clearly did, they're being oppressed by the archaic Japanese system and societal norms.

I know that asking US zoomers who have been assblasted by years of Us vs Them propaganda, and semi-literate SEAmonkeys to have some perspective, self awareness and realize that the person on the other side of the screen is a living, breathing adult who can make their own decisions is too much. But Jesus fucking Christ above, how far do you have to be gone to make excuses for this kind of autistic parasociality?

Not an expert since I'm not from the land of white pig go home, but they do put these out every once in a while; potato chips with card gacha seem to be about as common of a concept in Japan as you'd expect. At this point I also wouldn't really say one's more popular than the other, it's more that Hololive has a more niche but more dedicated fanbase, pretty much what you'd expect from Akihabara stuff.

I feel like it's related to the concept guys sometimes have of bringing a girl out on an expensive date, then expecting sex for it. Only toss in the sheer insanity of someday fucking an anime girl who lives halfway across the globe.

Some people think they can fuck a fantasy if they superchat it enough. The rest touch grass.

I wonder how many gachis salivate to the thought of their oshi going full Rushia and (allegedly) sending custom in-character videos that are not approved by management....
I'd say most and if any had to choose they'd prefer it that way if nothing goes wrong like it did with Rushia. It means someone is breaking the rules for you. It makes it more special, and thus they feel more special.
