I remember seeing an article, I can't be bothered to source it because I haven't the foggiest where it was from, where the author argued that cheating in video games shouldn't be frowned upon because "most cheaters are trans, and they're doing it to reject societal norms and assert their own beliefs." They neglected to mention the "damn the enjoyment of everyone else in your FPS lobby" part. Really, it seems more likely that cheating in video games is the domain of people who don't have principles to begin with.

Animals do not think the way that humans do, so they don't view sex and reproduction like we do. They operate almost entirely on instinct, more or less. This includes dogs, though we like to project human thought processes onto them. If a dog is fixed early enough (I think 4-6 months) they do not experience the reproductive instinct and basically have 0 idea they're missing out on anything. If you fix a dog that has experienced it or even been allowed to breed before, they might have some inkling that something is different, but it's really hard to say. It's also hard to say for sure whether animals fully understand that mating leads to puppies and kittens and ducklings and so on.
