this was indeed posted on reddit as well as the most "damning" evidence on why cloudflare dropped kf.

Even a child could look at that screencap and who posted it, and see it would be an easy fake.
you forgot to caption btw, that shortly after they also said the post was IMMEDIATELY deleted, and rationalized that as "normally they'd leave it up!!!!"

I earnestly don't believe there was any fedposting, I think they just capitulated under the nagging, just like Keffals planned to happen.

Anyone who's surprised hasn't been paying attention. Matthew Prince can hand-wring all he wants about how hard of a case it is, how difficult of a decision it is, etc. etc. The moment they took action against TDS those years ago shows where priorities lie.

At the end of the day, he's making a mercurial choice to terminate a customer based upon external pressure. That tells you what kind of company it is. Not only that, instead of just dropping routes, they do a redirect that ends up in a block. They're both active enough to bend the knee to the mob but also passive enough to cover their asses to avoid liability. If they dropped KF entirely, and a DDoS would most certainly occur, they'd be investigated at the very least as an accessory/accomplice to that criminal action.

Cloudflare went from "total freedom of speech" to "total freedom of speech as long as your opposition doesn't scream too loudly".

Really trying to avoid a "told you so" here, but considering past actions, the writing was on the wall.

I do wonder if any of Cloudflare's investors were only dealing with Cloudflare because of the freedom message they sent. Wonder how they'd react to this kind of action.

According to what I've read, theres been threats and incitement posting, even when the mods cleaned it up, mysteriously Keffals was right there ready to screenshot it and post on twitter.

That's a bunch of troons. Including the very troons in charge of this clownflare campaign. Now that they've shown that clownflare is a complete joke, they can move in and steal their customers.

I sure hope they actually do have pictures of Matthew Prince getting blown by 8 year olds because otherwise he is the biggest pussy on the face of the planet and I hope he gets cancer and dies.

If/when this site returns to the clearnet on its main domain, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to move to a invite only system for accounts (kind of like how torrent trackers work) and have invitees be responsible for the behavior of those they invite.

There are not many other ways to deal with fedposting when five minutes is long enough to get reported to your upstream.

And maybe ban every account newer than 2020. Yeah I know that includes me but it would probably be better for the long-term health of the site. A lot of you clowns make me ashamed to have not registered long ago
