With how fast journalists had full articles published after the Cloudflare announcement, something tells me that this move was waiting in the wings for a couple of days at least. I'm even going to go as far as to say that the blog post made a couple of days ago was just a front to cover Cloudflare's ass if anyone were to point out the dangerous precedent they set. This isn't first time that a "hard case" forced their hand. I expected nothing less.

There are literal suicide forums on the clearnet that host and distribute materials that outline suicide methods and point users toward drug dealers (sound familiar?) who will provide them with barbiturates to kill themselves with. One of those forums - operated by a Swiss trans woman (not that their gender identity has anything to do with it, since the original owners were two men)- had been the subject of articles published by the NYT. There are numerous verified victims that have been connected to these communities and nothing happened. This doesn't even scratch the surface of the other indescribably abhorrent content out there.

And yet a stupid - but never the less super comfy - gossip forum where people obsessively archive all of the wacky happenings of the net gets the axe? Such is the world we live in and it's happened all so fast.
