This reminds me of this Britbong case a few years ago where some 70 year old man with an infirmed wife had his house broken into in the middle of the night by a known robber, and this absolute chad wrestled the screwdriver from the robber and stabbed him to death. This scumbag's family and friends harassed the shit out of the old man once he was cleared of the wrongdoing till he had to upend his life, sell his home, and move him and his wife to another area. Used all the same sort of talking points.

This seems to have turned into the tiktok effect, where people just film shit and make little or no effort to even get someone else to help.

I’m convinced chinese living in inner city china don’t have souls. Even in the worst western shithole if someone got ran over by a car there would be someone calling paramedics, a bunch of women screaming hysterically, 5 tough guys fighting over the opportunity to perform cpr, they’d start redirecting traffic to let an ambulance through.

In china, the best case scenario is that the guy who hit you doesn’t back over you to finish the job, and everyone walks by and pretends you aren’t there on the ground.

China is a weird place. There's so many videos of horrible shit and people just don't react. There was one I saw not long ago, probably here where a kid gets run over by a scooter. Driver of course just goes on his way. Everyone just ignores it. A few step around it. At most they look, then look away. Ignore it. Walk away.

It's really one of those things where in a country with so many people. Life just just cheap and meaningless.

It's where you kind of start to understand that the social credit system is actually about re-educating out really shitty cultural practices and behaviours that don't work in a modern, advanced, functioning country.

The me first attitude may work when you're one of a billion in a poor country trying to get by. It doesn't work in a country where you're meant to be building a bridge and the me first attitude means you build it out of trash to pocket the funding.

One possibility to consider is perhaps this was "acting" at first that very quickly turned into the real deal. Many children and idiots think pretending to drown and the reaction it causes are funny. Well it might be right up until someone stands by filming while someone else dies because they assumed it was an act.

Children can drown in two inches of water. He probably inhaled water at some point and that fucked up his lungs sufficiently that he couldn't recover from it. People can also inhale water, seem to improve, then die in the hospital from water-induced lung damage or osmotic problems from inhaling salt water.
