25GB for an open world game with 'muh HD' graphics? Ain't no way, unless that's meant to be the compressed size for downloading.Big the Cat confirmed for Frontiers, with what appears to be a fishing minigame to boot.

The file size for the Switch version has also seemingly been revealed: 10.4 GB. 10.4 GB for Switch = 20 - 25 GB for all of the other versions, most likely. Correct me if I'm being retarded.
Phew, last we saw of that city level was a damn hallway, but now I see branching paths and more difficult platforming. Hope restored.Latest gameplay vid just dropped:
Along with that there's been a Gameinformer review talking about the first boss. Sounds pretty cool.
I'm still worrying that the Sonic Cycle will get us all in the end, but I'm cautiously optimistic now. Maybe this game won't suck.Latest gameplay vid just dropped:

Please.
I remember this quote, but in a different variation:That's the beauty of Sonic games:
Even if it sucks, there'll be elements that make it fun.
Ironically, there is a (fairly crappy) rip of one piece of music for Frontiers and it sounds sort of like BOTW if they remembered a piano has multiple keys.I remember this quote, but in a different variation:
"Even if a sonic games sucks dick, it still has a good soundtrack."
But at least have some solid tracks and not BotW-shit. BotW has still few amazing tracks, but you seriously can't translate any tracks of those caliber/ambience for a Sonic game.
I agree. I think the exploration might be fun, with music that's probably good. Maybe we will get an interesting story if we're lucky. If the rest (combat, graphics, stability, etc) isn't bad then I consider that a win, it won't take much to please me, I just like Sanic.I want to be optimistic about Frontiers but between their track record and what I'm seeing I'm just having trouble getting there.
The focus on combat is not doing it for me and I just cannot for the life of me understand why the game looks so slow.
I like the idea of an open world Sonic game that encourages you to mess with physics and the environment to get around in interesting ways but the game doesn't look like it has any momentum or speed outside of springs and rails.
I'd genuinely like to know, based on what we've seen to this point, what parts look cool to you?
You can customize how sonic controls, and apparently one of the options is how fast he runsI want to be optimistic about Frontiers but between their track record and what I'm seeing I'm just having trouble getting there.

Not to mention that you can also upgrade his speed as you play through the game via the Kocos. You can customize how sonic controls, and apparently one of the options is how fast he runs
Sonic should lend himself very well to cool open world exploration. They just have to make a game that feels like the opening to Sonic CD. A lot of my hope for this game comes down to movement, I can play objectively bad games if they have really fun movement.I agree. That's kind of interesting. So do you think they just have the movement speed cranked down in most preview footage? You can customize how sonic controls, and apparently one of the options is how fast he runs
I'd like to know what max speed looks like. Not to mention that you can also upgrade his speed as you play through the game via the Kocos.
Dont know how much of it is the speed option and how much of it is that they are only showing the first 2 zones, he seems to generally be faster in the decert area, which I assume is the second zone.Sonic should lend himself very well to cool open world exploration. That would mean giving sonic more animations and abilities to actually do shit on his own, meaning no rail grinding or air dashing through giant boost rings, which for some reason Sega just can't have a sonic game without any of those things these days. They just have to make a game that feels like the opening to Sonic CD.
It looks so slow and empty. I think the problem isn’t just that he’s not going fast enough to satisfy me, but also that how you gain speed is “step here to go fast.” As for the emptiness, I think that can be solved with some good music and a world that has personality, although it’s far too late for the latter. Also, the cyloop looks like shit. “Slowly walk in a circle to obliterate.”Latest gameplay vid just dropped:

At some point they forgot the original purpose of each gimmick they collected over the years and dumbed them all down to “touch to go fast”That would mean giving sonic more animations and abilities to actually do shit on his own, meaning no rail grinding or air dashing through giant boost rings, which for some reason Sega just can't have a sonic game without any of those things these days.
