When you go out there as a public figure and claim that power and wealth = oppression, you will naturally gain a following of people that agree with that statement. With enough time and enough followers getting behind you, eventually you, too, will have power (at least over the people that follow you and admire you), and with that power comes wealth. Is it any surprise when those people then turn on you, the new power, the new person with wealth? I mean, after all, power and wealth are oppressive. It's like driving as fast as possible towards a cliff. Doesn't actually matter how fast you get there; the only thing waiting at the end is a great fall. But hey, at least everyone was watching while you fell, right?
