Social Justice advocation and hilariously hostile, knee-jerk response to Gamergate don't necessarily demarcate lolcowery.

Rather, like being a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog or My Little Pony, it's considered a warning sign; a possible tipoff to further lolcowery beyond.

Same seems to be true of the reverse, given that we have that Matthew Hopkins fucker proudly showing us that even though one side of that discussion has historically had considerably more lolcows, it doesn't have a monopoly on the crazy by any stretch.

Moving on to actual content, here we have this post, which revealed many of the usual suspects acting like petulant children. I'd say people supporting Sarkeesian / Brianna Wu / Quinn / Randwhale on Patreon get their money's worth. It's not like they care about them producing anything, they just donate to:
1) Alleviate their white-straight-male guilt
2) Pretend they are progressives supporting strong womyn against the patriarchy to their friends
3) Promote their SJW / Feminist ideology

All of the above are achieved much easier if Sarkeesian / Brianna Wu / Quinn / Randwhale gives lectures at university on oppresshiun / cries on twitter all day / gives botched U.N. speeches about muhsoggyknee / harass and doxxes ideological opponents, instead of actually making videos / creating games / doing... whatever it is Quinn pretends to do / making "anti-cyberbullying" software.

Dunno if that tweet is real (is The Mirror) but... lol . I actually don't care if she keeps her job or not, but is usually expected that people that are vocal about their political views try to be congruent about that, specially important to take in account when your job is PR. In any case, to me is vile to shield yourself with being vague about whatever you consider fictional despictions being at the same level as real stuff, as IT IS a big difference and obfuscating this is what makes a very real problem (lax laws of child pornography in Japan) being derailed in stuff like "ban this manga I don't like".

Side note but is kind of shitty that the first result in google of "Alison Rapp" outside her twitter handles is: the Daily Stormer. A reminder in how toxic this topic can be when the involved act like desingenious assholes at both sides.

It simply doesn't occur to this type of person that having a PR job for a company that sells things to children and openly advocating on behalf of child pornography might be incongruent. If she had, she wouldn't have proudly put it in her online resume.

Neogaf mods has been so fucking squizophrenic about how they feel about Xseed and localization in general. They want and celebrate stuff like Legend of The Heroes but hate Tom guts because his views about free speech, censorship and localization. Like always, deleting posts just because and making neutral regular users walk in eggshells.
 
So it seems that Bravely Second is also butchered (to the point of eliminating fully voiced side quests outcomes where characters died). Dunno who to blame, if Nintendo or Square Enix but: LOL , THIS SHIT KILLS GOODWILL FROM JRPGS FANS.

Also, some users in Neogaf said that kids are buying Bravely Default games: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHOHWOW

More info on the 8-4 thing and similar ongoing censorship:

* Virtually every female character in Bravely Second who has a remotely revealing outfit has had it censored in some way or another. More clothes are added, cleavage covered up, garters hidden, despite Bravely being a title designed to appeal to weebs.

* An entire questline centered around you being put into a no-win scenario and having to make a choice has been changed so that it's an "everyone wins" ending regardless of what you do:

so if its not even enough that is worse than the first one we also get cut and manipulated content to make it more "child" friendly

>I've finished the Japanese version and something felt off about the outcomes of the side quests in the english version, I just finished the side quest with Ominas and Artemia and they made a pretty big change with how the outcome works. Hard to explain in more detail without going into major spoilers but i'll try to keep it major spoiler free, read on at your own risk.

So i chose to side with Artemia which resulted in fighting Ominas and Bahamut, at the end of it instead of Bahamut dying they switched over to the side quest ending that comes after a major event further down the story in which it's a good ending for both sides no matter which choice you pick.

Went to look for a video that shows the other option being picked and my suspicions were correct [Embed] picking to side with Ominas also gives the good ending version

So basically instead of picking a side and seeing the consequences of your decision being played out you're given a "good" ending regardless, i just went back and checked the events again and this applied to all the ones i've done so far. Can't say i'm a fan of this change as part of the appeal of picking a side was actually seeing the consequences of your choice and then further down the line without going into spoilers "stuff" happens.

Edea also no longer questions herself on her decision which was something that was supposed to happen much much later on.[/Embed]
