Two weeks didn't work in the real world, and it didn't work here. We'd have probably been offline for longer, but ultimately, we'd have found our way back. You simply don't try and extend an olive branch to these people, that's how you empower them. Give a fraction of an inch, and suddenly they have 10 miles on you and an exclusion zone to prevent you from encroaching on that.
