UK Queen Elizabeth II deathwatch thread - Speculate on when a beloved old lady will die here.

The Queen spent Wednesday night in hospital for preliminary medical checks and is now back at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace has said.
The 95-year-old monarch returned from hospital at lunchtime on Thursday and is "in good spirits", the palace added.
The Queen was said to be "disappointed" after cancelling a visit to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
She was given medical advice to rest for a few days, after a busy schedule of public engagements.
In a statement on Thursday night, Buckingham Palace said: "Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits."
The Queen was seen by specialists at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in central London, about 19 miles (32km) from Windsor. Her admittance is understood not to be related to coronavirus.
The overnight stay was said to be for practical reasons and the Queen was back at her desk undertaking light duties on Thursday afternoon.
The King Edward VII's is a private hospital in London's Marylebone used by senior royals, including the Queen's husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who received treatment there earlier this year.
It has been a busy period of official engagements for the Queen.
She was pictured hosting a Global Investment Summit at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
An official record of the Queen's diary showed at least 15 other formal events during October.
On Wednesday, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said the monarch had "reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days".
He said the Queen was "disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland" - which would have involved an overnight stay.
She is expected to lead a royal delegation to the Glasgow COP26 climate change summit in two weeks' time.
Earlier this week, the Queen declined a magazine's award of Oldie of the Year, saying "you are only as old as you feel".
She "politely but firmly" turned down the award, but sent the Oldie magazine a message with her "warmest best wishes".

Just a preliminary thread for now, but it's worth keeping an eye on, pretty sure this was how it started with Philip...

Harry, like Andrew, will be allowed to wear his uniform during the Vigil.

As much as I think Harry is a tool, and Andrew a pedo criminal, I think this is right. Of all the Royals, they're the only ones who served and saw combat. The rest just do fancy dress up.

Gonna be rough on Andy though, as this will definitely be the last time he ever puts on his uniform.

Damn, imagine being so far in the doghouse with your family that you're being give the same treatment as the paedophile.

I think this is right.
One of these people raped kids. Probably British kids too. He’s still walking and has attended state sponsored funeral without anyone trying to hang him or even saying “Hang on a minute, why is the pedo here?”. Not a call to violence or anything like that but the fact that even here the royal pedophile gets the quoted treatmens geos to show just how buckbroken the anglos really are.

Watched King Chuck's first speech. My takeaways:

--he's committing to keeping his opinions to himself

--said right away he's ruling til death--no abdication for the younger, sexier Will

--"Harry and Megan, as they make their life abroad "--YOU IN EXILE NOW, BITCHES!

--also declares the Royals are him, Camilla, Will and Kate. No mention of Anne and Edward. So basically they've been retired. Won't be so bad for Edward, as he doesn't do much, but a real blow for Anne, because she's been so visible and does a lot

Also watched the proclamation live. Noticed the former living PMs in the front, but who was the black chick in glasses standing with them? Any Bongers able to clue a Colonial in?
my question is can the royal family survive such a cutting? i thought the royals lifes were so filled with evens it would be hard to

If you want to understand what people think of Sadiq, compare him to the other mayors of London. His predecessor from the same party, "Red" Ken Livingstone, was a personal friend of both Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez (or at least trying to be, I don't know how much it was reciprocated). In between the two, the conservative mayor was Boris Johnson.
Anyway, it was already decided about twenty years ago that the fourth plinth would be a sort of public art exhibition, with pieces going up for two years at a time, so the "anti-colonialist" sculpture by the Malawian is getting taken down in 2024. Unfortunately it's getting replaced by face-casts of 850 troons (archived), a "trans-genocide" piece by some Mexican or other. These things are decided by a public vote, but it's from some pre-chosen shortlist to avoid "Boaty McBoatface" scenarios.
Anyway, I found out that there's already a statue of Elizabeth II in Lagos (archive of full article). It would be perverse to have one in Niggeria, but none in the UK. I thought they'd put a statue of her in Parliament Square, near the one of Sir Winston (though I've not heard word of any such undertaking).

Not really surprised. She was in her late 90s and I think it was about a year since her husband died, but I guess “lost reason to live” and “broken heart” can’t be put on a death certificate.
Powerleveling a bit here, but I can tell you from personal experience that "Lost the Will to Live" can absolutely be listed as a cause of death on a death certificate.

Was anyone else watching the second service in the Queen's funeral surprised to find out that wands are real and that the former head of MI5 has one?
