I've been meaning to post this on the farms, but since it's been wonky I hadn't gotten the time to do so. Anyways on August 26th, Barely Sociable was having a crisis on twitter as he announces that's outsourcing some of the work from his videos, ya know,...like a majority of youtube channels over 1mill subscribers tend to do.

i'd rather more channels admit it so they can at least credit the people working on the content properly. Almost every popular channel has a team behind it or at least some freelancers helping out but only the face / narrator gets any credit.

There's one of these "girl reading about crimes" (I don't remember which one, they're all almost indistinguishable; I'm sure it wasn't Reignbot, maybe Dark Curiosities?) that says "this script was written by so and so" every video.

That should be the norm. Is not like we can keep pretending Youtube is the same as 15 years ago when it has been becoming more like traditional TV each passing year.

God, I remember taking datura back in middle school. I read plenty of trip reports about it, and knew it was gonna be freaky and not fun. There was a few plants in an alley across the street from my highschool. Me and a few other kids were stupid enough to do it. One day at lunch my friends were walking through the alley to go get stoned and we noticed the plant was cut down and sprayed with poison, I wonder if the owner of the house destroyed it after learning kids were eating the seeds, or if someone at the school/parent did it. Man good times...
I'd be happy to share my story if anyone is interested. We should make a trip reports thread.

I believe it was made by a smaller horror channel about a real life crime where a man was found dead (in a chest?) In the woods, remained unidentified for some years and after being identified nobody came to claim his body and the video was basically about the horror of being forgotten like that.

Dropped this guy like a bag of bricks when he first transitioned, good to see that it was the right decision.
Kind of sucks, his reviews used to honestly be pretty funny. Now he's just a mess.

I used to LOVE Nyx. Once he trooned out I completely lost interest. It's a shame because he did an analysis of one of my favorites movies (Phantom of the Paradise) which got me to sub initially.
Now he just looks and sounds sick.

To add to that list, tries to act like most video content of people dying isn't third world shit, claims that a large portion or majority of it is "western" and from cops killing people. Sure.
Edit: Most of the intro is just him continually shitting on content that exposes the morbid shit in the world, oh no some random person is being 'victimized' and you can't learn nothin from that!! Well I know that elevators and escalators in China should never be used, might save my life. Also teaches you never to be calm around active and open machinery.

One of the reasons I like BarelySociable is the level of actual research he puts into his videos. So many others just skim Reddit at best, so YouTubers like him and Atrocity Guide are a refreshing change of pace. Given that he seems to legitimately care about the quality of his content, I don't think he'll hire just anyone to be in his research team.
