"Current year" terms that piss you off

It's supposed to be a term for stylish clothes, but it sounds idiotic and is used principally for tacky designer shit like Gucci.
I actually looked it up on the Urban Dictionary, and you're right, but one of the other definitions is basically British for "retard" and I prefer that definition.

Speaking of gaming terminology, “exclusive”, because it’s almost never used right anymore. No, a “console exclusive” is not an exclusive if I can also get it on PC. A “Playstation exclusive” is not an exclusive if it’s on multiple Playstation systems. And “timed exclusive”? Fuck you.

I blame Microsoft for opening nearly every game reveal at E3 2016 with “Xbox One and Windows 10 Exclusive”. Exclusive should mean “was made for exactly one system”, nothing more. Arcade is an exception since few people will be able to even play the arcade version, let alone own an actual cabinet.

I used to have to work with a stonerbro leftist NPC and when he would disagree with you but he knew you were right (it didn't even matter if it was about politics, just anything), but he couldn't come up with any reason why or explain what he believed, he would just say. "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighhhhhht." He would also just repeat what you said but really slowly in the same way. One time we had a casual disagreement about some work thing and he was like "Juuuuuuuust hook the cable up theeeeeeeeeeereeeeeeeeeee", repeating what I said slowly. Okay my retard, you gotta tell me what's going on to make you think that won't work.

"Bros" being used at the end of things when the typical Twitter crowd don't like something/someone. "Tech bros," or "Crypto bros," etc. It's hacky and it's overused like when there's a big event and people call it "event-name-gate."
Thoughts on these fellas?

"My brother in Christ"
"who hurt you"
"no bitches?"
I can not believe you would say that!
the "sure jan" meme.

All of this is standard Libshit twitter discourse. Its both offensively fake, and pseudo holistic(the pretension of being healthy and well adjusted)

Console exclusive = exclusive to that console. PC is not a console.

A “Playstation exclusive” is not an exclusive if it’s on multiple Playstation systems.
PlayStation exclusive = exclusive to a PlayStation console.

And “timed exclusive”?
Timed exclusive = exclusive to X system for Y period of time. But I agree, those are pointless.

"usamericans" or "US-Americans" is a snobby word used by snobby members of snobby ethnicities (Hispanic, French/Quebecer, North European) to insult Americans while hiding it. They claim that people from the same continent but outside of the empire are technically Americans too. Yeah, they live in provinces of the empire. That's why we have the terms Central American, South American, Latin American, and North American. Words can have several different meanings, that's language. This is a non-issue invented because some lack the balls to say "mutt" and "burger".

I thought "US-Americans" was something you said if you were retarded
See example:

"Adulting": One guy where I work uses this incessantly. I tried asking him what he meant. "It's stuff you do when you're an adult". I told him that he's looking for "adult activities" or "adulthood". I thought he'd just made the term up but then I saw it used by some redditards.

"Challenge" when used by politicians or management types, as in:

"It will be a challenge": I don't know how to/don't want to do it so I won't.

"It was a challenge": I fucked up and hope nobody will find out.

That's been around for a while, but is really bad this year.

All that altcoin/NFT(add NFT to list) shit like "FUD" and "diamond hands", although that has almost disappeared since last year.

"Play to earn" in gaming. Runescape gold farming is a better "play to earn" experience than most of these bullshit games.

"Adulting"
Ok i know someone, early 20s, who uses this word a lot to describe doing mundane household tasks, cunt you are an adult, it isn't "adulting" its being a normal functioning person
"Died by suicide" instead of "committed suicide".
Quick update on this, people have now switched from saying "died by suicide" on the net to just "unaliving him/herself" because suicide is now considered a universal trigger word and is not allowed to be used without a trigger warning

'Genocide'

It used to be one of the most terrifying things you could conceive of.

Now it means: "You're a meanie poo poo head who won't validate me."
Add "Fascism" and all its derived words to the list. That word has a specific meaning, and isn't some generic insult to be used in slanging matches instead of "arsehole".

‐-------------------------------------

While we're on politics: "alt-right dog whistle". While not coined this year, nobody who uses it seems to know what they mean by it.

The most coherent 'explanation' I ever heard was a bullshit slippery slope story which amounted to "If you do action x(the dog whistle), you'll attract people who'll indoctrinate you into joining the alt-right (as if I can't tell them to fuck right off)"

That same person later claimed that the term meant "something someone in authority does to secretly signal to the alt-right that he supports them".

When I asked him to reconcile the two definitions he got some janny to ban me from the Discord server.

(It was a Magic: The Gathering server that this loser was shitting up, BTW).

This crap convinced me to delete Discord, which I should have done long before.
