Win10 is, fortunately for us, the new XP and has a LTS version that's guaranteed through 2030. And by that point I really don't know why people who complain about their os being pozzed would still use Windows. The Office suite is now a cloud product. Bitcoin finally got GPU manufacturers to start playing nice with Linux and Valve repurposed SteamOS to be their own version of Wine, so games work more and more on Linux too. Unless you have some incredibly niche (and by 2030 probably ancient) app that's only Windows/Mac supported, idk why you'd choose to stick with it.

LTSC had its support nixed from 2030 to 2025 when Win11 dropped. I should know, I'm autistic enough to check and see if M$ would fuck over LTSC to get people to migrate. They did.

Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers=dword:1
The registry editor is your friend.

Also, why fuck with Windows, Linux, macOS, all that CIA bullshit? Use TempleOS like a white man

I haven't run Windows on my personal computers in over two years.

I use Open-Shell because I fear change and it lets me make Windows 10 look like Windows 7. I didn't hear anything about rainbow flags and shit until Null said something in his latest stream.

Whelp I guess I have three years to evaluate whether fedora or or mint work better as a windows replacement instead of seven :(

Forget Fedora, use Rocky Linux (formerly CentOS) instead. Fedora's a great system but it's only supported for a year and is too bleeding edge for its own good. The RHEL spins, especially with some tweaks for the sake of usability, are about as close to LTSC in Linux as you'll get.

Kinda sorta true but it's not Win 11 related and doesn't apply to 1809 LTSC.

Basically with LTSC 2021 there are now 2 editions: Client (5 year cycle) and IoT (original 10 year cycle). LTSC 1809 was basically designed for these 2 purposes and they've just split it up. Probably made IoT expensive as hell but it'd depend on the size of your agreement and not like farmers with KMS activators care anyway.

In summary:
LTSC 1809 is supported until January 2029
LTSC 2021 is supported until January 2027
LTSC 2021 IoT is supported until January 2032

If Linux isn't ready by 2032 then lol you're fucked.

Good news, "Microsoft" has uploaded an LTSC 2021 IoT ISO on archive.org https://archive.org/details/en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f_20211210

Just make sure the file hash actually matches 76c3c10e38307d29fd8b4748522ed144dba35829 after you download.

what if it doesn't
If it's meant to be the same ISO (like the build number is the same) but the SHA-1 doesn't match, go find another download. Usually they don't match because retards insert KMS activators into the ISO, which can be ignored, but it makes the ISO completely untrustworthy. There's no telling what else has been fucked with.

So, I took the plunge and "upgraded" to W11. Compared to LTSC 2019, this is... paradoxically quite nice but also extremely unfinished.

I mean, I spent almost 4 years on LTSC and it absolutely did not give me any headaches compared to the utter nightmare that was backing up my C:\users\Dread folder, creating a bootable W11 install media, and making sure that I got the most up-to-date BIOS on my motherboard that enables fTPM (thankfully ASUS finally updated the BIOS on their website). There's also an assload of shit feature and configuration wise that W11 utterly lacks that W10 only recently got (i.e. extensive Android integration).

With all of that said though? It's... actually not that bad to use (at least coming straight from LTSC). I already unpin and uninstall the overwhelming majority of bloatware on fresh installations of Windows, so that's nothing out of the ordinary. OOSU10++ was tweaked to support Windows 11, and that more or less takes care of the entire reason why I installed LTSC in the first place. Also, I'm not sure if this is my autism talking but the drivers for my RX Vega 64 seem to be much more stable on W11 than on LTSC 2019 (though there are many reasons why that might be the case, so I can't chalk that up to W11 quite yet or if at all).
