I am behind not just on the forums, but on April's last few videos. I will say that I count her 5K successful, in spite of what people are saying over on Chikara transformation's coverage of the video.
For ordinary/beginning runners the big victories in my opinion are not some stellar race performance but rather a) not hurting themselves, and b) finishing the distance. By both of these criteria April succeeded. Her time wasn't even that bad, given her size and previous lack of cardiac fitness. Again I know people were sneering at it, and *yes* it's slower than many people's walking pace -- for that matter it may be slower than *April's* fastest walking pace. That's not uncommon for long distance endurance paces (which this isn't, but relatively speaking it is if someone doesn't routinely run further than 10K or so) and also perfectly normal for a beginner. She's only 5-10 minutes slower than I would expect from any rank amateur over the age of 25 with no other sporting experience running their first 5K. So well done April, and doubly well done for actually seeing something through successfully!
That said, my goodness she looks odd (?) in some places. I don't know if that glazed expression is from the filters, or Botox, or medication of some sort, but it's definitely off and if it's purely due to filters she'd be best served using different ones. The inspirational music in the running video is also hysterical -- I can't think why she thinks that's necessary and/or inspiring or desirable in any way. If it was someone else I'd suspect them of subtle self-ridicule, but I don't think April is capable of that.
