In the mean time, Russia has taken back some villages near Svatovo, towards Krasny Lyman. Likely just a result of the Starlink disorganization/the Ukies stretching their line too wide before they attack. The area is still heavily undermanned by the Russians so expect them to change hands again soon.

This footage is being discussed heavily by military observers and for good reason.

Its the first evidence of GMLRS being used tactically, and very effectively at that. Apparently they've tightened the killchain down to a point that accurate targeting data acquired via drone can be acted on fast enough to chase down dispersed units in the short time it takes them to rally from an initial strike or similar pause.

It was only a few days ago I said either on this thread or the other that more HIMARS launchers wouldn't be of much use to Ukraine because of the strategic nature of how they've been used. Apparently I and a lot of other people were wrong. I'm starting to reassess my skepticism of the USMC's restructure.

Western/Ukie accounts of them running out of missiles obviously can't be trusted. If they have loads it's fine, if they're running low it's only going to damage their ability to actually fight the war.

But they did "run out" of missiles. They've started to use older missiles while producing more of the newer ones, and then sending volleys once they arrive in service. They've even resorted to using S-300 surface-to-air missiles in their ground-attack mode which isn't efficient or particularly accurate but packs a punch. They're using the Iranian loitering munitions as the Aliexpress version of cruise missile, although Ukraine actually bought Aliexpress drones to attack oil refineries.

What do you mean? The F-16 is a 1970s aircraft, we got what we paid for plus more. It has a 76 - 1 kill record, with the air to air loss being a crash during a Greece vs Turkey tard "dogfight".

They miscalculated willingness of the West to support Ukraine. East Europe has been triggered and angrily pointed fingers at Germany in particular because we always knew Russia is weird and sus, yet the West generally ignored we as smaller, retarded brothers that cannot into politics. So Russia likely assumed that only the East would cry about it, and the East has zero military power and no influence in NATO and EU, so yeah.
There's also the narrative of the decadent West which is based on a core of truth, but the rot is not yet terminal and Russia just got drunk on its own amplification of the situation.
Regardless, this is very real and very dangerous, Russia is caught in a no exit situation, more precisely the regime is caught in a trap. Putin cannot make peace. Cannot negotiate. Only path is to win in some way, which must necessarily include Crimea and the East Ukraine, at minimum.
The potential paths of exit IMO:
- Ukraine gives up/regime change (unlikely now), peace treaty with regions given to Russia for peace. Would require Ukraine to stop fighting, very unlikely, they're rather angry and set to go to the end, in average
- Russia regime change, coup, revolution, peace, retreat, return of territories, Ukraine will have to guarantee Russian minority safety, will likely need UN peace keeping mission in the conflict areas
- escalation to world war through some incident involving NATO state, nuclear or not.
- protracted war for decade+ with both sides getting tired and depleted, periodic flareups on the borders, partisan warfare etc. Would allow Putin to save face somewhat. Economic downfall would be severe

This is not afganistan. I cant see this just fading away and becoming a nothing burger. Especally not with the level of agressive engagement on social media. If the aggressive tribalism that pervaded Covid dies down I can see WW3 being averted. Until then its just going to escalate and build until god knows. Musk has the right idea buying twitter to mitigate the bullshit but we'll see how it goes.
