Maybe its just my imagination, or I know that thing about the human brains tendency to assemble faces out of shapes (pareidolia?) but the shape of the covers in the background of one of the Stinkditch reveal pics gave me the fucking creeps.
It looks the agonized face of a demon has taken shape, maybe one of the 41% returning to the place that condemned its soul to wander without rest, eternally tormented to watch helplessly as others make the same mistake it did... or it could just be a wrinkle in the bed sheet that my mind latched onto rather than acknowledging the medical atrocity in the main frame.

I'll never understand how we went from people joking about how they would rather risk dying because they wouldn't want to annoy 911 and be a bother (late 2000s); to having people feeling so entitled to 6 figures of government money and hospital space for their "necessary" surgeries.

In fact, I never came across a single one in these last 2 years that intentionally halted surgeries due to Covid either. All the ones that got delayed bitched and whined about it; like they were more entitled to hospital beds and doctors than the sick. Everybody made sacrifices for the community but apparently they're too special and important for that.

These TiFs and TiMs have such an odd selfishness to them.

Most of these surgeries are considered experimental and are all unique per their surgeon's technique so there's little responsibility for the outcomes. When the patient signs the consent papers, they acknowledge that the surgery is novel and may result in unintended complications. The level of care has to be very very low i.e. leaving medical instruments in the body, for these surgeons to have consequences.

Think of it in the same way as those conjoined twin separating surgeries; which is another type of experimental surgery. Because they're always unique, the surgeons may have a rough plan but they aren't restricted by step-by-step procedures. If the patient get complications or dies it's clearly not going to affect the surgeon's career as it's just the nature of unknown/risky surgeries. So the burden of responsibility is reduced.

In summary, they're mostly untouchable. Which explains why many of these trans-affirming surgeons have such a grandiose attitude.

It also explains the type of surgeon who goes into transgender medicine. Either mediocre nobodies after bundles of easy cash with zero risk or commitment (like Kathy Rumer) or sociopaths who want to build career fame developing new surgical techniques for which they can use humans as guinea pigs (like Sidhbh or the abdominal phalloplasty guy who made Elephant Dick). It's only going to get worse, as well.

Edit: I am going to expand on that and ramble on a bit. The purpose of surgery in most fields is to fix something fixable: repair a knee, remove an appendix, whatever. Once the surgery is done, theoretically the problem is solved. Transgender surgeries inhabit an entirely different space, because the thing they are aiming towards is an asymptote: you can't actually change sex. The need for surgery never ends, simply because of physical reality. And the need for different experimental surgeries is never going to end (unless external forces act to stop it). We are already seeing things like surgery to shorten the collarbones and widen the hips. As soon as the patient is done with that, he'll notice something else. It's a money tree.

In this way it's a little like plastic surgery: there's no point at which you can become perfectly beautiful, skinny, young, etc. Which is why we have plastic surgery addicts.

The difference is that the vast majority of people do not use plastic surgery this way. Partly because most people really do just want to fix one thing (they get a nose job or bigger boobs and move on with their life) and partly because excessive plastic surgery has a negative reputation in society and is too expensive for most people. If society started calling people stunning and brave for getting cosmetic surgery and passing laws requiring insurance to fund it, things would change (although I don't think it would ever get as bad as gender medicine).

Also, I heard about the common case of "urethral collapse" in MTFs and how many of them have to have it surgically widened every three years or so.

Gonna be the "well actually" person here: the urethra is technically lined with epithelial tissue, the male urethra has several different types in fact.


I am not sure that the urethra even does peristalsis for pee in males either (maybe it does for semen). Your urethral sphincters just relax (one is smooth muscle, one is skeletal muscle that's under conscious control in most people) and the pee flows out. In FtMs they keep these urethral sphincters, they just sew a tube of skin on to the outside.

You're basically right though: like I said in another post, the male urethra is designed to handle pee, and is lined with specialized tissue, and it's just being replaced with skin. I can imagine all sorts of issues that come from that. There's even a wider part at the bottom of the male urethra that probably helps with urine flow. Plus the urethra produces mucus to protect tissue from being damaged by urine. Little things like that.
