But without better outputs, what does it matter? A lot of people who get this card probably won't get to see it's full potential because Nvidia couldn't be bothered to spend a bit more on a nearly 2k GPU.

You overestimate the amount of people with 4k monitors, let alone 4k 120hz. 66% on steam still use 1080p.

If I was buying a nearly 2k GPU, I'd probably want an equally capable display.

The 4090 should be built for the ultra high end that its price reflects.

I've never been interested in how many, terashits per gigaflop a system has. It's like if the only thing you had to say about a car was how fast it drives.

I care about price/performance and more importantly about having fun with it. That was what made scrapyard wars fun was to rise to the challenges. I do not care about this month's new multiple thousand dollar card, I don't run a render farm I play Factorio. I want to see set ups and use cases for the machines rather than just a display piece.

Show casing a GPU and showing me nothing but numbers and a plastic shell is mindlessly boring to me. But if Linus is pissed that he has to run bench marks on these systems? why does he have to do it? isn't that the whole point of that lab he spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on?

It's stupider than that. The wan show uses a scrubbed show-specific laptop that should have no personally identifying information on it, but Linus is such a colossal entitled dumbfuck that he ignores the protocols and logs into everything with his personal information.
