Right? I've been playing my MMO for about twelve years now, still don't have 16,000 hours racked up in it. Maybe six-eight months total across all my characters. Two full years in a three-four year old game is full on insane. It reminds me of those people who got addicted to Evercrack back in the day. Just spending whole days, day after day, in the game.

Not healthy.

Ok, but those funky characters are ascii. Databases run the world these days. Databases are crazy fragile unless they are set up to correct for common errors/exploits.

Random non-acsii characters could seriously break who knows what. Not to mention, if it's not ascii how are data entry operators going to type in his name? The secretary at school isn't likely to know how to use alt-codes for regular non-text ascii characters. The parents are going to have to come with a Englishified name in any case.

This isn't ~colonialism~ it's practicality. I hate that buzzword anyway, its lazy virtue signaling. Everything is binary - black and white online and real life is rarely black and white.
