Russians tried to create their own version of 9/11 in Yeysk Krasnodar, but as always it ended up being shit.

Really, you think that's the dumbest post in this thread filled with "hohol" slurs and people celebrating over civillians getting bombed and stupid takes from both sides that interpret any minor setback or advance as an imminent sign of total victory for their preferred side? This is the "dumbest post you've read in the topic"? If Russia withdraws now, to the degree that the Zelensky govt. says is a requirement for negotiations to begin, then it will be taken as a sign of complete submission by the USA and there will be NATO troops all along the border with Russia within a month, formal joining of Ukraine into NATO will be done with great ceremony at breakneck speed. An hour from Moscow might be a bit general - more like five hours by tank. But about forty minutes by bomber from the airfields that will suddenly sprout across Ukraine and probably about ten minutes by missiles that would be staged there. So perhaps less than an hour would be more accurate. So I stand by it - such a withdrawal would mean the immediate conversion of Ukraine to a provisional staging ground for a possible NATO advance into Russia. Russia is vast but Moscow is right up in the Western end of that vastness if you hadn't noticed. Every significant invasion of Russia in history has come up through what is currently Ukraine.

Really, the dumbest post in this thread? Do you still consider yourself objective in this thread, I wonder.
Yes.
The only ones that compete for the dumbest post title are those that are dilating around the "Based Poland will invade Belarus and take pieces of Ooookraine OMG so based *press button NATO art 5* huehuehue" types of psychosis.
But thinking that NATO armies will send the special NAFO units to doge at the Gates of Moscow any day Putin gives up Donbas is on a whole 'nother level, so you get the prize, gz

Furthermore, if for whatever reason a NATO invasion of russia would not force whomever is in charge of russia to push the nuke button, thus rendering any possible gain from such an invasion pretty fucking moot, the last 9 months have rather decisively demonstrated that in a conventional NATO vs russia war, russia loses faster and harder than Saddam in the gulf war even if its just a portion of NATO involved.

This has been demonstrated both by russia's shamefurr dispray in ukraine and the fact that multiple members of NATO have in the last few decades repeatedly shown they are perfectly capable of fairly easily staging, waging, and winning wars against inhospitable third world shitholes the other side of the planet (and unlike iraq and afghanistan there would be no desire to spend 20 years hanging round after winning to play mall cop), and this is compounded by russia's genius decision to exhaust its munitions and armor and piss away what passed for its pool of professional soldiers in ukraine.

Them giving up or trying to keep donbass would do absolutely fucking nothing to change this, especially given how the baltics and now finland would provide an open way for any NATO invasion directly towards moscow and st petersburg.

However, this is all pretty fucking redundant as simply having nuclear weapons makes any actual invasion of russia far too much of a pandora's box to even try to open for literally any government on the planet, which is why north korea is still a thing despite being a military joke even by russian standards, having barely any nukes and being a perennial annoyance to both the US and major US allies in the region.

The only thing russia would lose by gtfo donbass and crimea is face, which for a country with delusions of being superpower 2020 and the #basedtradorthodox third rome or whatever the fuck its pretending to be now, is worth more than each and every one of its conscriptable population

EDIT: Also this just came to my attention and I felt it should be shared
Meanwhile in Moscow, Russian MP Alexander Khinshtein has declared war on South Park and Peppa Pig

We already have NATO forces X number of hours by tank and X minutes by bomber/IRBMs from Moscow. The Baltic States are all NATO members. Don't see Ukraine joining NATO for years, if ever - they have to rebuild and get their shit together first.
