It's theoretically possible that Ethan shits out of his mouth on a regular basis in order to garner publicity and, by extension, money; that he willingly subjects himself to hate and controversy so that he can gain the much coveted notoriety of a YouTube-whore. The shekel is his more prized possession, after all.

I don't believe this to be the case, seeing as it would require Ethan to play off being the moronic buffoon as perfectly as he portrays himself to be, which would require an incredible talent which I don't believe he has, but I think it's worthwhile to highlight the possibility.
