𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Their employees would face social alienation and they'd be blackballed by other firms. Likewise other companies would face the same criticism and they'd be required to blackball Twitter or else they'd be accused of aiding Neo-Nazis. Musk operates under the same culture as everyone else and unless there is a massive cultural shift, he can't do anything about these major issues.
The twitter culture itself is actually the exception, not the rule. I can't think of a software house out there that wouldn't be eager to acquire an actual, legitimate twitter engineer - and the bajillion social justice support staff are basically worthless in the industry and can't leave. There's still a major shortage of capable large scale network engineers. Atop of that, most firms really don't care who you worked for before - Its usually seen as beyond your control, whatever the leadership policy is. And with the loss of their major pressure apparatus in twitter control, its harder to try and blackball these people.

The fact of the matter is they spent so many years calling everyone nazi's that the call has lost all spice, and most people don't really notice or care anymore. Its background noise like calling someone racist or sexist.

See, twitter is interesting. Believe me, the sneed has nothing to do with people saying nigger.

How many news organizations use twitter as a legitimate tool to gather news? How many high up and powerful people shape their opinions based on twitter? How many companies? For years, they have had a lockdown, inflating the public perception of their positions. It doesn't have all of the old people, it doesn't have all of the conservative rednecks. It has young tech savy people, that's it. They are so fucking terrified that their positions will be challenged in a place where people can see everything.

Hey, you can’t expect a jobless loser like Mr Shorts to understand how hiring actually works!

There’s a big difference between the DEI “Trust and Safety” troon squad and the engineers who actually keep the site from crashing and burning. Interviews for engineering positions are almost always conducted by other engineers or managers on the same team, which means the new hire will likely be working directly with/for them, which means they have a vested interest in actually picking the most competent and qualified candidates because nobody wants to work with a retarded diversity hire troon.

The hiring process is absolutely retarded and arbitrary, but if you don’t get picked for a job you know you’re qualified for, “blackballed for working at X company” won’t even be in the top 50 retarded and arbitrary reasons.

So I've been reading from multiple sources that Twitter will be altering their "hateful conduct" policy regarding misgendering and deadnaming.

I can't wait for keffals to launch #droptwitter.
I'll bet my reputation that dead-naming and misgendereding will not be allowed on Twitter. Musk has no way to justify allowing users to harass and bully transgenders. If one of those people commits suicide then his platform will be attacked. He will be under the same pressure to conform as Jack Dorsey.

1. Twitter culture is ahead of the mainstream culture.

2. Employers will care about why you're helping a platform spread hate.

3. Actually Nazis does mean something. When someone is posting pictures of happy merchant and telling Jews that they should be put in Ovens, that does mean something. You've been in right-wing echo chambers too long. Sure some leftists have overused that term but most people know what it means.

I’ll bet that it will be allowed, as it seems to be one of Musk’s personal motivations for buying the site. They can still say it’s against the rules officially but all it takes is to stop or slow down moderation, which there is every sign is already in motion.

This will result in a lot of Idpol lefty types and normies leaving the app, with the resulting demographic being older, more right wing and more susceptible to the type of anti-news and conspiracy theories he wants to promulgate.
It will end up as a sort of truth social but with half the population still using it out of habit.

If one of those people commits suicide then his platform will be attacked. He will be under the same pressure to conform as Jack Dorsey.

Yeah about that, Dorsey is one of those who encouraged Musk and funded the buyout. He has fresh plans for it. Along with the Saudis etc.

Nobody cares anymore what people call you on the internet. People have no idea what "actual nazis" are anymore. Its been shown time and time again that people are tribalist cucks that will call you a nazi and fascist and the next day they put a ukrainian flag in their name and make excuses for swastikas on Uke soldiers and explain to you how banning opposition tv stations is a good thing.

Nazi means nothing. It's watered down now. You could call me a nazi in real life and I wouldn't bat an eye because of how meaningless it is now. It's overused, overplayed, just like the word fascist. It was scary at first, but most normies have been conditioned to see that they don't have a strict definition anymore.

I'm enjoying the saltiness of the buyout but I grow weary of the clearnet especially with the stuff happening to kiwifarms.
Gotta grab the dubs while we still can

You'd bet something that is negative? I'm not a gambling addict but that sounds like a really stupid bet.

Coinbase isn't aiding "Nazi Collaborators." The heat they get because Crypto is a pyramid scheme is minor. If Twitter allowed Neo-Nazis on the platform, people would say, "Why are you working for this company?" Their employees would face social alienation and they'd be blackballed by other firms. Likewise other companies would face the same criticism and they'd be required to blackball Twitter or else they'd be accused of aiding Neo-Nazis. Coinbase and Basecamp ran into this exact controversy when they banned politics in company coms. People said the same shit you are bringing up. Everyone forgot about it in a few weeks.
Noone is going to blackball you. There is no industry blacklist. Noone faces social alienation. Interviewers go through mandatory interview training where they specifically tell you to not look up people's social media, not judge people's work history based on ideology etc. Your coworkers are your peers and they understand that even if you work for a company they don't agree with, it doesn't mean that you believe the same as company. They understand that you are a person who needs a job to live.

No they don't. You don't work in tech. If you did, you would realize how ridiculous this sounded.

Damn, the mad man really is charging people for checkmarks.

I wonder if he’ll start going after users who begin cancel crusades next; I don’t think it’s profitable to be having a user base like that.
