But the claims about the law firm being right-wing are bogus - the defamation complaint emphasizes how she wants to restore her stellar (lol) reputation as an SRS quack butcher and most of the firm's practice is in white-collar civil litigation. These guys are attorneys to make bank, not to push any ideology. If you don't believe me they let the defendant (Jamie Miller) proceed anonymously and appear via Skype rather than dragging him through the mud. Same basic logic goes for the judge, yes he was a Donald Trump appointee but his rulings weren't completely lopsided in Rumer's favor - he forced her to amend her complaint as a condition of not dismissing the suit and agreed with letting Miller remain anonymous.

If Miller is a former patient of Rumer's then just filing this motion should have gotten her attorneys disbarred, it's hard to think of something more relevant in this case than hard proof she's a quack butcher.

Fortunately Rumer backed down and agreed to dismiss the case against Miller without making him pay her a dime. Congrats Kathy you wasted everybody's time and (I hope) tens of thousands in attorney's fees, just to get beaten by a shitposting troon!

It's great that the lawsuit is over but god damn does this look like a shakedown attempt that was abandoned when the defendant pushed back. It's the same thing she did a few years to Jezebel when it ran an article about one of her patients developing severe complications (to Jezebel's credit it stood by the article and didn't give her an inch).

Trusting in the expertise of your physician is a core part of the deal. You're expected to do your due diligence, of course, but we're talking professionals licensed by the state. When the doctor says "yeah... complications are rare, you'll be fine", it's fair to take that at face value.

"Informed consent" as a concept should be regarded as malpractice for troon surgeries.

One other thing to highlight in the post: This guy has Medicaid. Since Rumer is the only SRS quack butcher in the entire state of Pennsylvania who takes Medicaid the only alternative besides going to her was not getting the surgery at all (for non Burgerlanders Medicaid is our health insurance program for poor or disabled patients and it is run at the state, not federal, level so coverage for out-of-state treatment is minimal). You have to admit it's a brilliant business model - being the only option guarantees she'll keep getting patients no matter how many horror stories come out.

Just wanted to share my experience with Kathy Rumer as a larger bodied individual.

First- she was weirded out by me not wanting to keep my nipples. Even on the surgery day she drew spots on my chest to place them and I had to remind her that I wasn’t doing nipple grafts

Second- her surgical team/nurses at the hospital are woefully undertrained with regards to trans patients. I was continually misgendered (called “she” and “woman”) despite my telling the staff that I’m a trans guy. Not a very pleasant experience for a “gender affirmation clinic”

Third- I had a massive hematoma on my right hand side that swelled up when one of my drains got clogged. She insisted upon manually draining it as opposed to inserting another set of drains. She got about a liter of chocolate syrup-like fluid out, then sent me home where it continued to balloon. I ended up going to the ER where they finally placed a new drain.

Fourth- she took too much tissue from my left side leaving me literally concave, and she left massive dog ears and part of my right areola. When I went back to her for my post-op appointment she tried to gaslight me into thinking my nipple was actually just part of my scar. Despite the fact that it’s brown. She also told me if I lost weight my dog ears would go away (not true) When I asked about revision she brushed me off and said I didn’t need anything that my chest was “fine”

Lastly- when I decided to go to a different surgeon to get my revision done, her office has been dragging their heels with getting the operative report to my new surgeon. Part of me wonders if they’re trying to hide something from me…
