The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Is there any true demand for a Part 3 at this point? For real now, Im not even talking about plot. Im talking about demand.

People wanted more of this universe after the original. We loved these characters and wanted more of them. But Part 2? Does anyone, with a straight face and sane mind, wants more of Abby and Part 2 Ellie? We all know the answer to that.

There is a reason why Naughty Dog ran to the original for support, because in a way, they know Part 2 has doomed this franchise. In fact, I dare say this is a symptom of a problem at large with Sony (since this generation can be defined with Sony constantly shooting themselves in the foot with a shotgun while Microsoft and Nintendo watch in confusion) since I refuse to believe that the PS3 era Sony would ever allow something like Part 2 to exist in the state that it was. There was a level of quality control there.

And with now no expected new Uncharted game...what else they have left?

Ghost of Tsushima. They are already making a sequel to that as well as a movie. Sony doesn't want to admit it but Ghost was the better game and the real Game of the Year. The only reason they backed TLoU2 is because they wanted to be on the "right side" of the culture war as well as please China as Ghost was hated there for obvious reasons and China has a lot of influence and sway with the Western game industry. However, Ghost made more money then TLoU2. More people still talk positively of the game and want more instead of treating it with indifference and apathy like with TLoU2. Sony is going to do their best to sweep TLoU2 under the rug and quite possiblely the franchise if the HBO show is a dud. Naughty Dog better hope that the HBO show is good because if not the TLoU franchise maybe doomed and Sucker Punch will be Sony's new golden goose.

Microsoft can just buy whatever they want and use that for what they have, Nintendo has the same franchises they've relied on and can get people to buy easily, but Sony? I'd say Sony has like two or three other franchises they could try and run to, none of them being Naughty Dog properties because god forbid ND even makes something that isn't an uncharted or TLOU like games.

Those being Ratchet and Clank with Insomniac (Even more so since they got a character that the can pretend is trans to appeal to the people who actually think so with Rivet) with how easy it would be to crank them out and make money like what happened in the PS2/PS3 Eras, God of War with how well it has managed to do even after the reboot, and some other series that they treat like a minor footnote to bring back but not worth mentioning right now like LittleBigPlanet around the time of the PS5's launch.

They already are. As you can see with them lashing out at fans and making self-insert bad guys in their entertainment now be stand ins for "toxic fans". They don't like the fact that the plebs see through their propaganda and criticize it. This is a clear sign that these people are not "artists" but propagandists. Artists know that their work will be criticized but deal with it and value constructive criticism. A propagandists lashes out at those who criticize their message because they just want to brainwash the masses into accepting something degenerate as the "new normal". Expect more mocking from fans and more lashing out from the entertainment industry.

It may happen sooner rather then later. As much as these people in the game industry hate to admit it but the economy under Trump was the best time for them to sell games. People a few years ago had so much disposable income that they were more than willing to spend money on games that were clear propaganda but since they had the disposable income were willing to try the game out and judge it on its merits. Now though, with the economy as bad as it is, people as less willing to spend money on propaganda and instead hold on to their money and spend it on a game that isn't insulting propaganda trash. You are also seeing more and more people putting what little money they have to spend right now to supporting indie creators as indie creators want to sell a product and not try to raise their ESG score in order to get more funding and money from BlackRock and the WEF like the modern entertainment industry.

You know what I might have forked money over for? A board similiar to Warhammer clutter. Like, gimme an entire building with maybe 5 enemy figures and two hero figures, and you have to fight your way through. Like a barbie house, but more violence.
