I've thought of several lies Flynt could possibly use regarding Natalie. They'd mean partially lying to cover the bigger lie, but better than admitting you completely made up a person and pocketed donations.
Flynt must be buttmad since he's sticking with Natalie is a true and honest woman and employee of Giant Spacekat.

Natalie knew that the evil gamergaters would want to steal Rev 60 before its PC release, and prevent Wu from becoming the Gamera of women's tech.

So she went into Wu's offices, and took all the game files for safekeeping.

Then, using her amazing PR wizardry she burned all evidence of herself from the Internet and went into hiding in French Guyana, so that Wu's masterpiece will never fall into skeleton hands.

I don't know how we didn't think of this before, it explains everything.

And Analog is a science fiction pulp magazine that pays its writers around eight pennies a word and relies on submissions from people who are pathetically desperate to be published. A few years ago I saw a post from a writer who had finally sold a short story to Analog after submitting more that 50 stories over the course of 44 years. He was in ecstasy. Analog is not prestigious, much less "VERY prestigious," anywhere outside of the science fiction ghetto.

He already tried this.

Geth made a mockery of his attempt to silence Transeye West by rehosting all of the article Wu tried to erase from Medium on his own blog. Wu wanted to go after that too, but Geth made it clear he was prepared should John try to fuck with him, and even other SJWs told him that it would be a fool's errand, so he gave up. Besides, trying to further bury things would force Geth and Wu to break their mutual promise to not antagonize each other due to Wu being the fool to break faith first, and would give Geth all the reason in the world to legally fuck Wu in the ass hard for harassing him.

tl;dr: He does this again, he just risks further embarrassment and exposure, and Geth made sure that Wu's attempt to pull that stunt will just result in hilarious failure if he tries again, as Geth will likely rehost whatever Wu tries to burn, and Wu is scared of going near Geth again, so he's damned if he tried to silence this callout, damned if he doesn't.
