Agreeably, he is a genius when it comes to physics, but if you were to follow his arguments on why Musk's ideas are impractical, you'd also believe we'd never have colonized the US, built railroads/highways, popularized the car, or developed trans-Atlantic flight. The video I watched was 'debunking' Musk's plans for consumer spaceflight. He said that rocket fuel was too expensive so it would never be profitable, rockets are too dangerous so it would never be safe, and not enough people travel from Beijing to NYC to make it worthwhile. The first argument can be debunked on the basis that once space infrastructure is up and running, fuel prices will decrease exponentially. The second neglects the fact that rockets are following the same trends of commercial airflight in that it was hyper risky at the beginning, but are steadily becoming safe. Finally, he doesn't account for the fact that these new travel routes would likely create a demand for NYC-Sino travel systems and the fact that the costs/benefit for flights like Washington DC-London or LA-Abu Dhabi would be significantly more attractive than the proposed NYC-Beijing path.

The new Twit-In-Chief had some fun with AOC in a back and forth on Twitter. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that “free speech” is actually an $8/mo subscription plan”.

And Musk replied:

“Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”

Musk having some fun with the usual brain dead blue checks is funny and entertaining. He is calling them out publicly, but his internal moves inside his new Twitter are more disturbing. He recently announced the formation of a Twitter content moderation board that included the ADL and others who called for the banning of President Trump while he was in office.

You might as well have a Twitter censorship board made up of Stephen King, Don Lemon and Cher. No one on the right is represented. Musk also recommended on Monday Yoel Roth, the Head of Safety & Integrity at Twitter, for the “most accurate understanding of what’s happening with trust & safety at Twitter.”

Needless to say we were NOT impressed that choice. Looks like the new boss is the same as the old boss.

Looks like the lefties on the Twitter content moderation board have Musk’s ear. Musk also said no accounts that were banned for dubious reasons would be reinstated before November 8th. Looks like Musk is playing both sides. He tells the Right, yes your accounts will be reinstated, but turns to the left and adds, not until after the election.

We shall see how this plays out and whether or not Musk reinstates the Twitter accounts that were permanently suspended in January 2021. That includes our Twitter account @grrrgraphics that had been on Twitter since 2010. The reason we were banned? Twitter said we were “spamming” a very dubious reason to suspend us indeed.

We will enjoy watching the ongoing Twit show and hope that out freedom of speech makes a return on Musk’s blue bird platform.

can he make it profitable? probably yes, if he goes through with ideas like firing three quarters of staff and charging money for verified status.

Optimistic outlook. IMO musk is a pressure relief valve because the angry mobs were gaining momentum. Between the total collapse of media credibility and the absolutely batshit retoric out of washington and the troon menace a lot of people are starting to notice. This way they keep the frame going whilst hopefully taking some of the wind out of ideological dissidents' sails.

Rockets are not a case of building a better TurboFan and flight chassis, a rocket will always require approximately the same energy per weight to defy gravity no matter what you do. "Exponentially cheaper fuel" holy shit dude, this is can only be controlled by the price of oil and there isn't going to be some super rocket engine to change the world.

Also the more fuel you load onto a rocket, the heavier it gets then the more fuel it needs to lift that fuel etc etc, you do the math, if you can. (This problem also fucks over electric trucks, bigger the battery the less cargo you can haul, thats why the Semi is a joke)

Also, as long as a rocket requires LIQUID FUCKING OXYGEN to be loaded into it its always going to be INCREDIBLY FUCKING DANGEROUS. Most on pad explosions are caused by something going wrong in the fueling process because of the huge difference in temperatures required.
