Mariane: <talks about revenge porn>

Wu: YEAH.

Marianne: <talks about attacks on suffragette and abolitionist women>, "as an example of silencing techniques"

Wu: YEAH

Marianne: we all hear about Jennifer Lawrence's photos, we hear a lot less about Gabrielle Union.

Marianne: <more about revenge porn. Honestly reasonable points, but Wu keeps on saying "YEAH">

Marianne: Revenge porn is now just about money. Wu: YUH

Marianne: You can go to myex.com for revenge porn.

Marianne: there are about 3000 websites that have some kind of nonconsenual pronongraphy. Wu: GRUNT

Marianne: and they sometimes commit suicide Wu: yeah

Wu: I want to tell a story. I get a lot of email from women that are in trouble. There is a story I got from someone <working on Oculus? Missed this.>. A frequent harasser is happily employed by another person. These people are freely employed in our society and there is no blowback for that. I cannot stress enough how the system protects this kind of behavior.

Another panelist talks about real problems.

Off-topic:
Wu: "My studio, Giant Spacekat we have a Patreon

TALKING ABOUT NATALIE!!1

We have a woman in our company that just tracks harassment all day. She is having a piece in a very major website soon.

Twitter has a lot of problems. TWITTER HAS A LOT OF PROBLEMS.

I wish the press would appreciate just how hard Twitter is working on these problems. They have updated their hiring pipeline. Before all this happened, Twitter did not really understand the issues of transwomen, and the policies of deadnaming.

At my own studio, at the begging of Gamergate, their odds of successfully suspending an ccount that was harassing us is 5%. Now it is 20-30%.

What we don't talk about enough is Reddit!!!

I cannot say this clearly enough. Reddit is failing women in every marginalized community spectacularly.

I'm trying to back-channel with reddit about something that should very clearly not be on the Internet and they don't want to hear it.

"Here let me show you revenge porn websites."

Good lord.

Notice how quiet the crowd is at this panel? I'm guessing there's all of the ten people in the front row.

He's talking about Natalie without referring to her by name.
He's now talking about something completely different, don't know why he brought it up at all.

In the Live Stream:
Munoz is going on "Corrupt Government Officials" and the shadow war on female journalists.
Tinfoil hats on, gentlemen.
Edit:
Patreon shit is being addressed!
If it's a shadow war then how come most of the "fighting" is taking place on public platforms like Twitter?

It's not just posting on Reddit. It's that Reddit can LINK to sites that have damaging information, every day.

Youtube: we found out they updated their reporting rules.

I am an engineer. This is math, science, numbers. We did an experiment. We submitted 20 random comments about lynching, and only 2 out of 20 got removed.

Mitchell is talking about a young man "just walking up the stairs" at a Trump rally on got punched, and then arrested. (The man was actually being escorted out by the cops. Of course he should not have been punched nor been arrested for being pucnhed, but he wasn't "just walking up the stairs")

Mitchell: <talks about issues> Wu: Absolutely

Wu: I think it's so telling that this past week google hired moot, the founder of 4chan. I had people telling me that he should be able to make a living. What a double standard.
