He filed a complaint with the FCC Federal Copyright thing for small claims to try and keep his thread off search engines. I believe it's free and doesn't require an attorney but it's still effectively litigation. I've not been formally notified.

The FCC thing is brand new, passed into law very recently. I believe the court has a lot of discretion to ignore bullshit, but if it proceeds we will likely end up setting case law.

Here is the about page for the FCC thing. It's actually surprisingly interesting: it's like a mix of regular small claims court and one of those federal administrative boards.
Basically you don't need a lawyer, the whole hearing is just conducted online, if you don't want to participate than the person bringing the lawsuit has to go sue in federal court instead, damages are capped at $30K, and if you get hit with an abusive lawsuit you can recover fees up to $5K if you have a lawyer and $2.5K if you go on your own.
