I think you should take comfort in knowing that Wu is not liked by most people. She can't run a business because she puts her own needs above pretty much everything and everyone else. Wu had a SMALL animation studio and it died a horrible death.. then she did it again with her game studio which resulted in her either firing or pissing off almost all of her employees. She cannot hold a position that requires her to answer to anyone and does not have the skill set needed to do most serious tech jobs. Wu's only skill is to build a house of cards and then fortify it by using anyone still with her as a shield and to be fair that isn't so much a skill as it is being completely shameless and self-serving. Wu will never be able to hold a real tech job. Although I hope she one day gets one just so it will become a complete clusterfuck of her trying to figure out who to blame and how.

So yeah, expect her to become a regular writer for some shit show like the Mary Sue if her studio dies.

I have it on good authority that Wu is hated locally, too. Apparently hiring people repeatedly and then canning them when they outlive their usefulness and claiming everyone is against you has consequences in reality.

Who knew?

Not to mention taking credit for their work.

Omar Gallaga has an article about the 'Summit': http://www.512tech.com/technology/b...ine-harassment-summit/O309VQa9AZQzjdGzlXjpfP/ http://archive.is/HJVrC

Five months after the cancellation of two South by Southwest Interactive panels due to threats created a national story about diversity, online harassment and misogyny, a Summit created specifically to address the matter arrived with low attendance and tight security.

Security was tighter than usual for a SXSW Interactive event not involving the President of the United States: bags were checked at the Hyatt entrance and attendees were asked in each panel to adhere to the Summit's code of conduct and to not leave any items unattended.

A morning panel, "Is A Safer, Saner and Civil Internet Possible?" explored briefly the #GamerGate harassment situation that led to the Summit, but moved on to the consequences of attacks on, for instance, women journalists online, who may opt out of the profession, or women of color. The panel also addressed the problem of revenge porn online, which has proliferated to about 3,000 websites, and how online communities such as Reddit are failing to keep abuse in check while others, such as Twitter, are trying to improve.

"Reddit is failing every women in every marginalized community spectacularly," said Giant SpaceKat game developer Brianna Wu, who has been outspoken online on the subject of threats to women.

Panelist Shireen Mitchell was still critical of the festival's decision to keep the "SavePoint" panel in the schedule while also canceling a separate panel she proposed about women of color and superheroes. She said she told the festival, "You're putting me in a position where I'm going to be attacked and harassed. I'm putting my panelists in danger."

The festival has not said whether it will have another Online Harassment Summit next year. This year's event, held at the Hyatt, was a hike from many of the panels at the Austin Convention Center and it's possible that the subject matter may have been tough for some attendees who may have preferred to party with St. Bernard dogs, Grumpy Cat or celebrities at other higher-profile panels.

512tech has reached out to the festival to get a comment on the Summit's attendance and whether any panels were, in fact, livestreamed. We'll update this post with that information.

I was just looking at Omar's twitter. Spewing "levelup" crap and goodness forbid people go check out the VR panel than listening to Wu talking over minority women. She did the same "uh-huh's" and "yeahs" she does when Amanda had a chance to talk in that podcast that was posted a bit ago... Wu has no interest unless it's about her. It's kind of disgusting behavior, tbh. (I also like how Omar tweeted that he was a brown person)

That last comment. Once again, I feel bad for the people like Munoz who were there to talk about serious issues. Brianna's presence torpedoed their chances of people taking it seriously and her inability to deal with not being the center of attention led to them barely being able to talk.

"We don't have free speech because of your words!!"

So when/Flynt/Wu lies about something and someone not only points out the he's lying but also provides proof that he's lying, that person is somehow denying Flynt/Wu his right to free speech.

He is clinically insane.

All right, done playing nice.

Brianna wants to claim Tyce was a threat?
Let me drag that argument into a dark corner and have it put to bed, once and for all.

See, there's a funny thing about Jace Connors, Tyce Andrews, and the Deagle Nation crew: A lot of people got punked by them to various degrees. Hell - we here on the Farms thought he was real as well, though most of us realized that Jace was at the very least recklessly exaggerating to various degrees. Team Gamerfood was fucking pissed when Jace got revealed. Needless to say, Back in the dark ages of 2014, before Gamergate was ever a thing, and before we learned that Jan Rancowski is one of the best comedians the Internet has ever known, Jace fucked with someone else in a similar fashion.

....Whom he fucked with was none other than Jamie Walton, of the Wayne Foundation.

See, back then, we, along with most of the greater Internet, thought Jace was just some crazy Autistic kid who was really, really funny to watch, and not the masterclass work of trolling we'd later know him to be. So this one time, Jace started to lose his shit on some dank jhenkem and was starting shit on Twitter (as he'd been wont to do) and then, apropos of nothing, fucked with the Wayne Foundation, claiming, at the time, that his mom believed he was gay due to their actions. This led to Jace on-stream frothing at the mouth about how he'd been thwarted by some anti-Child Trafficking group that had, in all likelihood, never fucking heard of him. Unlike Wu. who got accused of some dumbfuckery by Jace, Walton had her entire fucking org threatened during his autistic flailings as well, so this is actually a cut above what he did with Wu during the Street Race Incident and Operation Wu-Pocalypse.

Just like Wu, Walton thought Jace might pose a threat at first. After all, he dropped a pretty broad swath of nuttery.

Which brings me to the crux of this little bit of rage: Both Brianna Wu and Jamie Walton got punked by Deagle Nation.

Both figured out, in about a day, that Jace was a fucking nut and posed no threat whatsoever (which is especially interesting as Jamie Walton didn't have the benefit of talking to @Null directly about it, as Brianna Wu certainly had). The difference is that Walton, armed with this knowledge, simply pitied Jace and saw him as some raging autist, whereas Brianna Wu chose to sensationalize the thing up to competition standards because she finally could claim she'd been legit threatened by Gamergate (even though her threats at this point had been Deagle Nation and three seperate SA attempts).

Wu intended to sensationalize Deagle Nation from the start, knowing full well that it was bullshit.
Anyone who claims otherwise is wrong.

This is why I dislike Wu and am adamant that she is a fraud, besides the fact that I am a female PC gamer (admittedly in recent years I have not had time.) I tried to warn her 1. Jace is not a threat, he is sick. 2 Jace is Jan. Don't be fooled. Ffs, laugh like the rest of us because WOW best ruse ever. 3 @Null warned her from what I understand. 4 I received no warning, but felt pity for the character Jan created.

Bottom line, I had every reason to be more afraid and have more right to legal action against Jan than Wu did and chose not to take it. Why? I'm not an asshole. There are real predators online. Let's deal with them, mmmmmkay....?

You've done more for women than Wu, and you can say that about yourself at absolute worst.

And while Flynt is inventing phantoms to chase, you actually have accomplishments to your name and more respect than he'll ever acquire.

And if you want a few extra laughs and proof I'm right, check the last couple of pages to see the most pathetic attention whoring for some of the most pathetic audience figures ever.

Just look at how utterly awkward the other panelists seem. It's so sad.

Three women with legitimate credentials and claims that need to be fixed... and a rambling, self-righteous tranny that bitches about boogeymen that speak the truth. It's like casting the painfully unfunny comic relief in a serious movie to try and lighten the mood.

Amen to that. We have a world with real problems to fix, and a number of people (like your organization) doing something about it, and then we have the likes of Brianna being an absolute shit.

I'm sorry for dragging you into this, Spectator - I wanted to make clear however just how much of a sensationalizing dick-mule Brianna was being, and yours was one of the only real contrasts I knew about.

Speaking of apologies, however: there's one thing I found interesting.
Jan admitted he overstepped when he fucked with the Wayne foundation.

Seriously, check 34:40 or so. He apologized in the aftermath of Deagle Nation finally being over.

This is a rather interesting contrast, again, in how two seperate parties reacted to the lunacy that was Deagle Nation. Your organization did its due diligence, and found that Jace was just some sped, hardly worth getting worked up over; Brianna Wu meanwhile tried to turn such knowledge into an attack point (nothing new for Brianna, mind). Jan took the time to apologize for his hininks involving your organization later, whereas for Brianna Wu, the entire reason that Deagle Nation came to an end was to discredit Brianna herself.
