US 2022 Mid-Term Election

I don't see any updates justifying this sudden level of pessimism. What, are you all upset Kelley's got the initial lead in AZ? That CA and CO went Dem for the Senate? Surely that can't be surprising.
There's still a ton of votes to be tallied and Republicans are already on track to win the House, and fight for the Senate. Seriously wtf?

Looks like a purple splash.

Dems get to keep a lot of their stuff but states that they had a chance of winning in 2020 like Florida and Texas turned crimson red. The only things that are up in the air atm are Georgia and Arizona. Won't be surprised if we see both get fortified during the night.

At least my state humiliated Robert Francis once again.

To be fair, anyone sane wanted to see the Democrats crushed, driven before them, and then hear the lamentations of their...

...

Hm. I'll have to get back to you.

You guys drive like fuckin maniacs; if it's not some 85 year old lady who's drunk driving home from the Tiki bar, it's some dipshit whose going 25 in a 40 and last used his turn signal in 1985 (because his car is a rusted out shitheap Pontiac from 1976). I just want to get my family to dinner by driving like a normal person; 7-8 mph above the speed limit, is that OK?

Florida drivers don't have highways, they have myways, as in: "you'd better get the fuck out of my way before I violently depart the fast lane and sideswipe you as you're trying to merge from the on-ramp."

PS, if someone makes a left turn in front of you, the polite thing to do is to maintain speed or hit the brake slightly just in case, not speed up and lean on the horn until their turn is complete and then for an additional 30 seconds afterward.
Nah, 95 is both the interstate and the speed minimum. Also snow birds who don’t understand how to do u turns without fucking over everyone behind them that want to take a left are faggots. Finally we have gigantic fucking signs telling you what road you’re about to hit… stop acting surprised.

My bigger disappointment is that the Dems will likely keep governorships in states like Michigan, NY, and PA, even though they were responsible for a lot of the early nursing home deaths.

Basically rubberstamped the COVID tyranny and death they caused.

Although the Dobbs decision was the right one, Roberts dragging the decision out for so long did help the Dems.

Pennsylvania and New York were out of reach.

New York because the state's GOP hasn't caught up and Pennsylvania because the GOP cut Mastriano off in part due to his terrible campaign.

Michigan is completely up in the air, Wisconsin is going red. We could have had a shot at Minnesota and Michigan should be in our corner already. But bad polling directs where Republican leadership sends money and the polls said those were out of reach.

Good news is we'll get Wisconsin back, neuter activists Democrat courts in Ohio and North Carolina, and maybe have a shot at flipping Nevada governor.

Had an off-the rails white 60-something woman come into my store tonight to buy 5 Fireball nips and a bottle of wine - gloating and screaming the entire time about how much she hated Donald Trump, kind of at me (the harmless lesbian-looking tomboy with short hair) but mostly at my younger black co-worker. During her seething rant she'd periodically ask said younger black co-worker why he "doesn't model" (those white Dems sure do seem to love to objectify black folks don't they (I know my white tranny roommate makes a point to call every black woman he sees on television "attractive" no matter her size, her face, her height, whatever!)!?

I live in Massachusetts btw...Didn't vote, I was working. And it's Massachusetts. I mean, really..

Main reason I'm posting this, though, is the Trump-seething(!), and also the very idea that it's acceptable for me as a worker in a store to just go along with her seethe, like, cause it's MASSACHUSETTS?! 🤯 So you can rant and swear and rant and rave at me about Trump (whose been out of office now for years) as if he's still there and still pulling strings?! Like, what if the tables were turned, and she was a MAGA cap-wearing Republican? She was sperging so hard I can't even imagine how my younger co-worker would have taken that had she been "MAGA" and not sperging about Republicans and Trump.

After she left I guess I made the mistake of saying that politics were more complicated than what she was talking about, and that I keep politics to myself unless I'm hanging out in private company and we're sipping brewskis. Maybe he read too much into that because he was fucking cold to me the rest of the night, to the point that I actually told him after several attempts at small talk that "I'll shut up if I'm being annoying!" to which he said dry-as-fuck "I didn't say anything." 😑

I'm a fucking woman and I know what it means when a man responds like that. Doesn't matter if I'm an older lesbo and you are a younger dude, that was a "fuck you" and I know it. Fucking Gen Z. Awkward rest of the night over nothing. I fucking hate politics.

Regardless of what happens I'm staying doomerpilled. The Dems might choose to cut back on "Ballot correcting" for this midterm, but crank it back up for 2024. Really won't trust elections until the results of that.
I don't get why people are getting so buttblasted. The Republicans only need to take the house. If they can take the senate too that's gravy.

Ohio is a solid red state now too. With the Hispanic vote in Florida (edit: and Texas) going red and Ohio firmly going red, it's good news for 2024.

Surely you can't be this much of an optimist. Like dude. We seen this shit happen before.

It's got to be down to how long this is taking, particularly Arizona. There's been zero election day vote released so far and it's growing annoying.
