I've gotten pretty tired of Ludwig, he makes ok content but he cannot shut up about leftie politics even in unrelated content, and wants to portray himself as some wholesome do no wrong guy. Hassan is a lot more openly a political channel, but he is more than unsufferable in comparison. Now both of these people are doing frequent invasive cross-overs with other streamers, including Jerma, and it's a massive shame. He really has no reason to be involved with these people, but I'm guessing he gets a boost in viewership when he works with them.

I've slowly gone from never hearing of Ludwig and feeling neutral about him at the beginning of the year to really just hating him. He comes across as such a parasite, he is everywhere in the whole online sphere, he's gone out of his way to become friends with pretty much every big streamer and streamer group, he appears on every podcast and stream sucking up as much attention as possible (I couldn't stand him on Cold Ones as an example, and Jerma's streams like the Dollhouse one where he made constant sexual jokes and stated his joke character was "non binary"), and donates to other streamers he hasn't met to try to get in with them. The guy himself seems so bland and boring, but he tries to be edgy and cool yet he turns around and spouts the usual wokeist nonsense like all big online personalities do, and because he's in with everyone it's basically impossible to criticize him or else you'll be shouted down by all of his fanboys and others who treat him like one of the best things to ever grace the platform.

Maybe it's just me being mega autistic but I don't get good vibes from him at all and he seems like such a poser, doesn't help he's a former pro Smash player so who knows what might come out of the closet in the future. It's funny too considering he's apparently gonna step down from the limelight and focus on more BTS stuff when it comes to streaming and events, like you're now doing this after you've shat up everything for awhile and made bank?

I was reminded of a channel called "Cart Narcs" by another YouTuber that I watch, and I just don't get it. On one hand, yeah, fuck people who don't return their carts or push them to the racks that they have in the parking lots, that's just common courtesy. On the other hand, it's really hard to sympathise with someone calling out shitty behaviour when they're doing stuff like this:

It kinda started when he made that Ezra Miller video and people pointed out that Miller just used the pronoun game as a "get out of jail" card and Kira sperged in the comments about how it was "his video and he can do whatever he wants and people don¨t have to watch it if they don't like it!"

In his latest video, he pissed a bunch of people off when he mispronounced the Japanese "Abe" and he posted a long-winded cope post to explain why.

Moreso he claimed that he learned it "by reading" which is pretty retarded. You can at least look up the proper pronunciation of a name in a language, you're not familiar with.

It's not that hard and worse, the video featured clips where news anchors pronounced it correctly.

I mostly just watch woodworking and blacksmithing videos anymore. That's Youtube at it's best, showing off genuinely creative and skilled people making things for their own sake and the video is just a side project.

The other 99% of Youtubers are just making videos to make money from the algorithm or reacting to someone else's video to make a quick buck, with as little effort put in to either as they can get away with, and all while adopting some pseudo-intellectual attitude like their work means something. Anyone whose day job is making Youtube videos, basically.

There are some good content creators out there left such as EmpLemon and RedLetterMedia. I mostly just watch something that interests me, like listening to podcasts.

To be honest, I try to stay away from social commentors these days at all and tend to watch media reviews. Which might be the issue.... anyone still reviewing video games tends to be a stunted manchild.

But yeah, is there a media critic out there who ISN'T A) someone who thinks TV Tropes is a legitimate source or else B) isn't annoying to listen to? (and yes I tried Red Letter Media, they just kinda bored me, and I'm not much of a movie guy anyway)
