Follow up. I don't know how to feel but the Gouty One and I see eye-to-eye on this. It really does feel like there was a conCERTed effort to just crap on Gotham Knights. The game is not bad. Maybe a little short and a little easy but it's fun. I've tried asking around and the main thing I keep seeing is it isn't like the Arkham Series. Seeing how it's not a part of the series that doesn't seem like a valid complaint. At the same time it's obvious the game can't stand on its own. It's unable to defend itself and I sure as hell won't be going to bat (heh) for it any longer. So to be fair to Phil: when you're right, you're right. But just drop it at this point. It's just a game.

That's kinda the funny thing about DSP's take on gaming journos. Reviews are subjective. I've enjoyed games that were hot garbage to everyone else, seen people who love a game that's hot garbage to me. He expects that reviews be objective but also tell you if you would like it, things that are incompatible. 10/10 games aren't perfect flawless games, just games that the reviewers found to be extremely enjoyable. He waits to see what they say, calls them shills if he doesn't agree with them and tries to act like his liking of a game was an original thought if he enjoys it.

I don’t understand why the stupid facecam window is such a problem for Phil. I mean, it makes sense because he’s an idiot, but at the same, I’ve never seen any other streamer constantly have issues with their facecam blocking important shit.

Because nearly every other streamer cares about their production quality to the point where they spend time when not streaming to make sure their assets work correctly and that their previews look good and have friends who can critique them without it ending up being hostile and are willing to make major to minor changes to their setup to improve the quality and watchability of their content.

Phil is kinda in a strange place where he is defending utter shit games like Sonic Frontiers and that Gotham game, AAA is dead and he doesn't want to ACKnowledge it since he'd have to change, come up with a brand fixed to a certain thing most likely.

It's also that Phil relies on the "hype" to create any kind of buzz about himself. If he were to admit that AAA were dead, he'd lose even more excuses for his poor performances.

What fascinates me is you can see he wants to call them shit but he won't because he is a contrarian cunt. I dunno if this duality is actually whats partly to blame for his baby rages of late since its pent up, or just simply his ability to even keep up with these easy mode corpo games is going.

The odd thing is a see the same level of cope from the Sonic community, I was looking at that post DSP shared on Twitter about the DLC glitching, not one of them was bitching. Any other game even would have people saying wtf why can't you even do a launch right...

It's bizarre that Phil, who gets pissy over perceive bugs and glitches didn't try to ratio sega over managing to fuck up dlc in a way no AAA company has before. He was handed yet another chance to dunk on people who deserved it and didn't take it.

Likely he defends sonic because he's scared of potentially offending a whale or even more likely derich.

On the side of sonic fans defending it, they're just desperate to have a "good game" again that they lowered their own standards have it. Give it a few years and I'd bet that we'll be seeing "video essays" admitting the truth. Plus most of them haven't matured.

Believe it or not I don’t think I’ve ever seen Derich in Phil’s chat during a stream of a Sonic game. I guess he’s too slow in the mind to handle going fast.
