It amazes me how the Zoomers embody the worst aspects of both the Left and the Right. With the Left they inherited their woke progressive politics and with the Right they inherited their warmongering imperialism. While they are possibly the most vile generation one can not also blame them for who they are. The types of propaganda that these schools taught them as kids is wild and sickening. It is nothing but woke shit but also at the same time warmongering propaganda in that these textbooks tell kids that every war America has ever fought over was for preserving "democracy" and fighting "fascism" and a good US citizen will kill and die to preserve "democracy" and fight against "fascism". Its sick. If the Zoomers ever get drafted they will learn right quick that the Uni-Party pulled a fast one on them.

The last I learned about the American Revolution was in like seventh grade history. From then on, all of my social studies classes were about how terrible white people are (imperialism, slavery, Holocaust, the 1950s and 60s south, etc.)

They never said the quiet part out loud by explicitly stating that white people are bad, but I'm sure they do so now. The propaganda was subtle 20 years ago, but it was most certainly there. On top of it they now shoehorn anti-whiteness into math and science. The kids don't have a fucking chance.

It looks like Murkowski may actually be behind in the AK senate race, which would be a big (turtle) egg on McConnel's face if she lost, but I presume that with the ranked-choice system all of the votes for the Dem candidate (who got 9.5% of the first round) will go to Murkowski and put her over the top. The seat will stay R, so the senate will still be at least 50/50.

However, I fondly remember my 7th grade history teacher who taught us the real reasons for the Civil War which wasn't over slavery and freeing black people like we were originally lead to believe. What shocked me to learn was that she was a Democrat from the South but she put teaching before politics.

Here's the thing, every point you made is correct. However, that doesn't make voting for a dead third party any more reasonable. Your principled stance means fuck all if it results in the greater of two evils getting their way with your asshole. You can shit all over the GOP and I'll be right there with you, but it's still worth voting for them if it means children aren't literally getting raped in school.

It's one evil with two heads. So long as they control both options and you accept that, then they can always move you in the direction they want just by holding up a worse choice next to it.

The chief purpose of the Republican party in the USA is to prevent the arising of an actual Right Wing / Nationalist party. There really are only two options. (1) Build up a third party over as many elections as it takes to flip to the tipping point of people voting for it not being a "wasted vote" or (2) stage a coup within the Republican party and wrest control of it from the uniparty. That's what Trump did. Or at least came closer to doing than anybody else has.

I mean there's a 3rd option but it involves an actual civil war.

I do actually respect people voting a third party. They are at least trying. Now if efforts at 1 undermine efforts at 2 that's a problem. But something has to be done than an endlessly repeating cycle of being presented with two puppets and meekly choosing the one with the smaller knife in its hands.

Third parties are a useful trap to keep people who are bad at statistics from having a meaningful voice.
